국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 반려동물 보호자의 인간-동물 상호작용이 대인관계에 영향을 미치는 공감능력, 자기위로능력 그리고 대인관계 스트레스의 구조적 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 최종적으로 수집된 547명의 자료를 SPSS 21.0과 AMOS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 반려동물 보호자의 인간-동물 상호작용이 공감능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인간-동물 상호작용과 대인관계의 관계에서 공감능력은 매개효과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 인간-동물 상호작용과 대인관계의 관계에서 공감능력과 자기위로능력이 매개효과를 나타냈다. 넷째, 인간-동물 상호작용과 대인관계의 관계에서 공감능력에서 대인관계 스트레스를 경유했을 때는 매개효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 인간-동물 상호작용과 대인관계의 관계에서 공감능력, 자기위로능력, 대인관계 스트레스를 경유하게 되면 매개효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 반려동물 효과에 관한 연구가 서구보다는 매우 부족한 국내에서 반려동물 효과의 심리학적 기제에 관한 연구를 시도했다는 측면에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 후속 연구에 대한 제언과 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationships between human-animal interaction, empathy ability, self-comfort ability, interpersonal stress, and the interpersonal relationships of companion animal caregivers.the data of Data from 547 participants were analyzed using using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 software programs. The findings indicate that human-animal interactions had a direct effect on empathy ability. Moreover, empathy ability showed a mediating effect in the relationship between human-animal interaction and caregivers’ interpersonal relationships. Both empahtic and self-comfort abilities mediated the relationship between human-animal interaction and interpersonal relationships.. However, no mediating effect was found for interpersonal stress in the pathway from human-animal interaction to interpersonal relationship through empathetic ability. Similarly, no mediating effects were observed when considering the combined influence of empathic ability, self-comfort ability, and interpersonal stress. This study contributes to understanding the psychological mechanisms underlying the benefits of companion animals in Korea, where such studies are relatively scarce, offering insights and direction for future research.
