음악 교과의 핵심 질문 개발에 관한 연구 - 2015개정과 2022개정 교육과정을 중심으로 -

국문 초록

본 연구는 학습자가 학습 과정에서 탐구를 통해‘영속적인 이해’에 이르게 하는 핵심 질문의 의미와 특징을 McTighe and Wiggins(2013, 2016)에 근거하여 고찰하고 2022 음악과 교육과정에 적합한 핵심 질문을 개발하는데, 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 2015 교육과정에 기반한 현행 음악 교과서의 질문을 추출하여 핵심 질문으로서 가능성이 있는지 탐색하였고, 2022 개정 교육과정에 기반하여 초등학교 5~6학년과 중학교의 핵심 질문을 개발하고 그 적합성을 검증하는 과정을 거쳤다. 총체적 수준의 핵심 질문은 핵심 아이디어와 성취기준에서 62개를 도출한 후, 전문가 검증을 통해 선정된 44개의 총체적 수준의 핵심 질문에서 도출이 가능한 한정적 질문의 예를 제시하였다. 2015년도와 2022년도 개정 교육과정이 기반으로 하는 Wiggins and McTighe(2005)의‘이해중심 교육과정’과 ‘백워드 설계’에서는 교과의‘핵심 개념, 일반화된 지식, 그리고 핵심 아이디어’에 이르게 하는 것이 바로 핵심 질문이라고 소개한다. 본 연구를 시작으로 앞으로의 현장에서 교사와 학습자가 핵심 질문의 중요성을 인식하고 활용하며, 각 과정에 맞게 핵심 질문을 설계해 나갈 수 있도록 다양한 형태의 연구가 더 진행되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the meaning and characteristics of essential questions that lead learners to‘enduring understanding' through inquiry in the learning process and to develop essential questions suitable for music curriculum To this end, based on the 2015 revised national curriculum, questions from the current music textbook were extracted to explore their potential as essential questions, and developed overarching essential questions for 5th and 6th grade elementary school students and middle school students based on the core ideas and performance standards of the 2022 revised curriculum. Subsequently, developed overarching essential questions went through a process of validating their appropriateness. Among the 62 overarching essential questions developed in this study, examples of topical essential questions that can be derived from the 44 overarching essential questions finally selected through expert verification were presented.‘Understanding by Design’and‘Backward Design’by McTighe and Wiggins(2005), which are the basis of the 2015 and 2022 revised national curriculum, introduce essential questions as questions leading to core concepts, generalized knowledge, and core ideas. Starting with this research, it is hoped that teachers and learners will recognize and utilize the importance of essential questions, designing those questions in various forms tailored to each stage.
