국문 초록

이 논문은 19세기 미국 재림교회 건강기별의 역사, 신학 그리고 채식주의에 관한 연구이다. 19세기 미국 사회의 건강에 대한 인식과 이해와 함께 재림교회 건강기별의 역사는 시작되었다. 재림교회 건강기별은 신학적으로 신체적, 정신적, 영적, 사회적, 인도적 지원을 포함한 전인적인 회복을 추구하는 역동적인 기독교 신앙을 주장한다. 건강기별은 1863년 이후 재림교회 생활 표준 양식으로 정착했다. 특별히 채식주의는 재림교인들이 채택한 생활양식으로서 선호하고 권장하는 중요한 개념이다. 엘렌 G. 화잇의 건강에 관한 비전 중 채식주의 식단은 건강한 삶과 영적인 경험을 결합한 실천 과제였다. 재림교인들에게 채식주의를 포함한 건강기별은 현대적인 요구에 맞게 유용하게 발전시키고 적용되어야 한다. 이것이 이 시대에 재림교회가 선포할 세 천사의 기별의 중대한 한 부분이다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the history, theology, and vegetarianism of the health message of the Adventist Church in the United States in the 19th century. Along with the awareness and understanding of the health of American society, the history of the Adventist Church’s health period began in the 19th century. Theological, spiritual, social, and humanitarian support are the theological claims of the dynamic Christian faith that seeks holistic recovery. Since 1863, a health message had been established as the standard lifestyle for Adventist Church members. In particular, vegetarianism is an important concept preferred and recommended as a lifestyle adopted by Adventists. Among White’s visions of health, a vegetarian diet is a practice task that combines a healthy life and spiritual experience. For Adventists, health messages, including vegetarianism, should be developed and applied to meet modern needs. This was a significant part of the three angel messages proclaimed by the Advent Church during this era.
