국문 초록

본 연구는 제칠일안식일예수재림교 내에 존재하는 다양한 구원관 중에 완전주의나 펠라기우스주의를 반대했던 주장들도 일치하지 않는 문제를 가지고 있는 가운데, 그 대표격인 데스몬드 포드와 한스 라론델의 관점을 로저 올슨의 복음적 신인협력론으로 비교하고 조명하여 재림교의 구원관에 대한 이해를 보다 명확하 게 이해하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 로저 올슨의 복음적 신인협력론은 일부 보수 개혁주의 신학자들이 종교개혁의 범주를 벗어난 것으로 평가되는 알미니우스주의의 구원에 대한 이해인데, 인간의 의지와 참여가 은총에서 시작되고 완성된다는 점에서 올슨은 복음적이라 지칭하며 보다 넓은 프로테스탄트적 구원관을 제안한다. 데스몬드 포드는 예정론을 받아들이지 않지만 하나님의 주권을 강조하는 단독 사역론자들 특히 칭의 중심의 개혁주의의 사상과 비슷하고, 라론델은 칭의와 성화의 연결성과 인간의 참여를 중시하는 웨슬리적 구원관, 올슨이 주장하는 복음적 신인협력론의 한 유형이라 할 수 있다. 이 두 관념은 재림교 학자들 사이에 여전히 존재한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 두 학자에 대한 연구가 재림교회의 구원관에 대한 내외적으로 발생하는 오해와 긴장을 다소 완화시킬 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore Adventists’ understanding of the doctrine of salvation by comparing and contrasting the views of Ford and LaRondelle with Olson’s evangelical synergism to better understand the various views of salvation that exist within the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, many of which are inconsistent with arguments against perfectionism and Pelagianism. Olson’s evangelical synergism is an Arminian understanding of salvation that some conservative Reformed theologians consider to be outside of the Reformation, but Olson proposes a broader Protestant view of salvation that he calls “evangelical” in that human will and participation are initiated and completed by the grace of God. Ford does not accept predestination but is similar to monergists who emphasize the sovereignty of God, especially justificationcentered Reformed ideas, whereas LaRondelle reveals a Wesleyan view of salvation that emphasizes the connection between justification, sanctification, and human participation, a type of what Olson calls evangelical synergism. These two ideas persist among Adventist scholars. Nevertheless, studying these two scholars will alleviate some of the misunderstandings and tensions that arise both internally and externally from the Adventist view of salvation.
