국문 초록

퇴계는 주자학의 토대 위에서 철저한 주리론자이지만 중국철학사에서 주로 등장하는 철학적 특성, 이기개념을 중심으로한 우주론적 특성을 인간 본성과 감정의 영역인 심성론으로 가져온 대표 사상가라 볼 수 있다. 퇴계는 이를 더욱 심화하여 순수본연의 性에서 발현된 四端이라는 감정과 氣質에 墮在된 性에서 발현된 七情이라는 감정에 대한 이해를 놓고 고봉과 四端七情論辨이라는 지성사의 유래없는 논변을 남겼으며 주자학의 핵심인 性이 곧 이치라는 性卽理에서 감정 역시도 이치일 수밖에 없다는 것을 󰡔聖學十圖󰡕와 四七論辯을 통해 밝혔다. 본고는 이러한 퇴계의 감정이해방식에 대한 개념적 분석과 함께 이를 유교 대표 경전이라 할 수 있는 사서에 나타난 주요 개념 등에 적용해봄으로써 창조적 변용과 확장을 시도하고자 한다. 우리가 기존에 사서를 독법하면서 일반적으로 소개되는 내용 가운데 의문이 드는 구절 등이 종종 있지만 전문가적인 권위와 무거움에 다른 판단과 사고를 제시하지 못하는 것은 아닌가에 대한 의구심이 들 때가 있다. 사실 그 근원에는 비약해서 언급하자면 지식권력에 대한 폭력성 또한 내포되어 있는 것이다. 그러나 퇴계의 감정이해방식은 단순히 사칠논변의 주제로 다루는 것이 아닌 우리의 일상적인 사고구조의 이해방식을 분석하고 바로잡아준다는데 커다란 의의가 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 퇴계의 감정이해방식, 즉 퇴계 사고 논리구조를 가지고 사서의 주요개념 가운데 몇 가지를 짚어봄으로써 사물과 사태를 대하는 우리의 사고구조를 진리에로의 사유구조로의 전환, 진정한 철학(Philo+sophia)적 사유로의 전환을 시도하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Toegye is a thorough theorist on the basis of Neo-Confucianism, but he can be seen as a representative thinker who brought the philosophical characteristics mainly appearing in the history of Chinese philosophy, the cosmological characteristics centered on the concept of selfishness, to the theory of human nature and emotions, the realm of human nature and emotion. Toegye deepened this further, and made an unprecedented argument in the history of intellectuals, namely, Gobong and the four main emotions, regarding the understanding of the emotions called the four main emotions expressed in the pure nature and the emotions called the seven emotions expressed in the nature that was enshrined in the spirit and revealed through learning ten diagrams to become a saint ｢聖學十圖｣ and the Four Seven Debate that emotions must also be rational in the theory of nature, which is the core of Neo-Confucianism. In this paper, along with a conceptual analysis of Toegye's way of understanding emotions, we try to make creative transformation and expansion by applying it to the main concepts shown in the a Variorum of the Four Books(四書集註), which can be said to be the representative scriptures of Confucianism. There are often questionable passages among the contents that are generally introduced while reading librarians, but there are times when I wonder if it is not possible to present different judgments and thoughts due to the professional authority and weight. In fact, to mention it by leaps and bounds, violence against knowledge power is also implied in its source. However, Toegye's method of understanding emotions is of great significance in that it analyzes and corrects the method of understanding our daily thinking structure, rather than simply dealing with it as a subject of the Four-Seven Debate argument. Therefore, in this paper, by examining some of the major concepts of the librarian with Toegye's way of understanding emotions, that is, with Toegye's logical structure of thought, we can transform our thinking structure in dealing with things and situations into a thinking structure toward the truth, a true philosophy (Philo + Sophia) to try to convert to thinking.
