국문 초록

[연구 목적] 본 논문은 한국의 다종교 문화가 어떻게 공존하고 있는지 몇 가지의 사례를 중심으로 소개하고자 한다. 이로써 한국 사회에서 종교 간의 공존의 문제, 그리고 종교 간의 갈등과 마찰을 해결할 수 있는 단초를 살펴본다. 그리고 그 해결책으로 종교 간의 차이성 존중을 위한 종교 교육의 필요성을 제기하고자 한다. [연구 내용] 한국 사회는 세계종교사에서 보기 어려운 다종교 공존 사회이다. 2021 한국 리서치 조사에 따르면, 전체 인구의 20%가 개신교를, 불교는 17%, 가톨릭은 11% 정도로 나타났다. 그리고 전체 인구의 50%는 종교가 없다고 답했다. 이러한 현상은 한국의 가족 구성원사이에서도 흔히 볼 수 있는 것이다. 이렇듯 한국은 현대 다종교 사회의 모델이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 현상의 이유에 대해 우리는 다음과 같이 분석할 수 있다. 첫째, 한국인의 종교 중층성, 둘째, 종교가 세속화 과정을 겪고 있다는 점, 그리고 셋째, 종교의 자유가 그것이다. 하지만 한국 사회에서도 종교간 불협화음은 심각하게 존재한다. 그리고 가족 구성원 사이에서도이 갈등은 또한 존재하고 있다. 그렇다면 한국 사회는 어떻게 하면 종교 공존의 질서를 지속적으로 유지해갈 수 있을까. [결론] 논자는 우리 사회의 종교들이 서로를 이해하기 위한 대화를 지속적으로 가져야 한다고 생각한다. 뿐만 아니라 종교 공존의 질서는 공교육에서 종교 교육을 가르치는 것으로 풀 수 있다고 본다. 이는 후속세대들이 종교 문해력의 눈을 가질 수 있게 하기 위함이다. 이러한 질서 찾기는 인구의 50%나 되는 무신론자들을 위해서도, 지구촌 사회의 종교갈등 해소를 위한 열쇠 찾기를 위해서도 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

[Objective] This paper intends to introduce how Korea's multi-religious culture coexists, focusing on several examples. In this way, we could look the clues that can solve the conflict and friction inter religions in Korean society. And as a solution, I would like to raise the need for religious education to respect differences between religions. [Contents] Korean society is a multi-religious coexistence society that is difficult to see in the world religious history. According to the 2021 Korea Research Survey, Protestants accounted for 20% of the total population, 17% Buddhists, and 11% Catholics, and 50% of the total population has no religion. This phenomenon is also common among Korean family members. In this way, Korea can be said to be a model for a modern multi-religious society. The reason for this phenomenon can be explained as follows. First, the religious composition of Koreans, second, those religions are undergoing a process of secularization, and third, freedom of religion. However, even in Korean society, there are serious conflicts and strife between religions. And this conflict also exists among family members. Then, how can Korean society continue to have an order of religious coexistence? [Conclusions] I believe that religions in our society should continue to have dialogue to understand each other. In addition, I believe that the order of religious coexistence can be solved by teaching religious education in public education. This is to enable the next generation to have the eyes of religious literacy. Finding such an order is very important for atheists who make up 50% of the Korean population and for finding the key to resolving religious conflicts in the global society.
