‘교육기부’ 논의에 대한 비판적 고찰

국문 초록

최근 10여 년 간 확대되고 있는 ‘교육기부’는 불명료한 ‘교육’ 용어의 사용으로 인해 그 실체를 구체적으로 파악하기 어렵다는 문제가 있다. 본 연구는 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 어떤 노력이 있었는지 그 실태를 파악하고자 ‘교육기부’에 대한 논의들을 비판적으로 검토하였다. 연구결과, 논의의 이면에 학교와 교육의 혼동, 타학문의 개념을 차용, 결과중심으로 교육을 파악하는 등 잘못된 교육관의 문제가 있었으며, 그로 인해 ‘교육’은 그때그때 서로 다른 것을 지칭하며 논의의 맥락을 이탈함으로써 ‘교육기부’ 논의의 진전에 장애가 되고 있었다. 또한, 그 표류하는 ‘교육’ 용어로 인해 학교 안팎에 편재하는 교육은 물론, ‘교육’ 용어가 실제로 지칭하는 학교안의 다양한 사실들도 은폐되고 왜곡되었다. ‘교육기부’에서 ‘교육’ 용어는 삭제하고 실제로 일어나는 일을 드러내는 용어로 대체해야 한다. 그 결과로써 학교의 다양한 국면을 지원하기 위한 기부 논의는 보다 명료해지고, 교육은 별도의 인식 대상으로 분리될 수 있다.

영문 초록

‘Donation for Education’, which has been expanding over the past decade, has a problem in that it is difficult to identify in detail due to the use of the unclear term ‘education’. This study critically reviewed discussions on ‘Donation for Education’ to understand what efforts were made to solve this problem. As a result of the research, behind the discussion, there were problems with wrong views of education, such as confusion between schools and education, borrowing concepts from other disciplines, and result-oriented views of education. With these reasons, ‘education’ referred to different things at each time and was difficult to discuss. By leaving the context, it was becoming an obstacle to the progress of the ‘Donation for Education’ discussion. In addition, due to the drifting term ‘education’, not only the omnipresent education inside and outside of schools, but also various facts within schools have been concealed and distorted. The term ‘education’ in ‘Donation for Education’ should be deleted and replaced with a term that reveals what actually happens. As a result, discussions on donations to support various aspects of schools become clearer, and education can be separated into a separate object of recognition.
