국문 초록

연구의 목적은 신입생 대상 NEO 성격검사의 실시로 신입생의 특성을 반영하여 다양한 학생상담센터 프로그램 개발과 운영을 통해 특화된 서비스를 제공하고, 상담 효율을 강화하기 위함이다. 총 4,362명의 NEO 성격검사의 3년 누적 결과를 분석한 결과, 전년 (2018년, 2019년) 대비 2020년 신입생들은 전반적으로 친화성이 상승하여 친밀한 관계에 대한 지향이 강화되어가는 것으로 보이나 상담을 위한 특징 중에서는 소수의 사람과만 친밀감을 느끼는 비율이 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 이를 개선하기 위한 사회화 프로그램, 대인관계 프로그램 등을 통해 사회성과 대인관계 기술 향상을 지원하는 것이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 5요인 중 신경증은 점차 감소 추이를 보이나 그 하위요인 중 사회적 위축, 심약성, 자손감은 2018년~2020년 연속으로 50 이상의 수치를 나타내 다른 하위요인에 비해 다소 높은 수치를 보였다. 낮은 자존감은 신입생이 새로운 환경인 대학생활 적응을 어렵게 하는 요인으로 작용할 수 있으므로 자존감 향상 프로그램을 통해 건강한 대학생활을 지원해야 할 것으로 보인다. 이러한 연구결과는 신입생의 성공적인 대학생활을 위한 다양한 프로그랜 개발에 시사점을 줄 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide specialized services through the development and operation of various student counseling center programs by reflecting the characteristics of college freshmen by conducting the NEO personality test for new students, and to enhance counseling efficiency. As a result of analyzing the three-year cumulative results of the NEO personality test for a total of 4,362 people, compared to the previous year (2018 and 2019), the agreeableness of the new students in 2020 overall increased and their orientation toward close relationships was strengthened. Among the characteristics, it was found that the ratio of feeling intimacy with only a few people increased. It seems necessary to support the improvement of social performance and interpersonal skills through socialization programs and interpersonal relations programs to improve this. Among the five factors, neuroticism showed a gradual decrease, but among the sub-factors, social withdrawal, vulnerability, and ego damage showed a value of 50 or higher for consecutive years from 2018 to 2020, showing somewhat higher values than other sub-factors. Low self-esteem can act as a factor that makes it difficult for new students to adapt to college life, a new environment, so it seems that a healthy college life should be supported through a self-esteem improvement program. These research results can give implications for the development of various programs for the successful college life of freshmen.
