영웅신화론을 통해서 본 중년남성의 모래놀이 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 중년기 남성의 사례이다. 내담자는 지적으로는 우수하나 어린 시절부터의 드라마틱한 삶의 과정에서 발생한 심리적 문제(트라우마)로 인해 균형적인 심리 성장이 이루어지지 못하였고, 대인 관계의 어려움이 있으며 불안과 우울 수준이 높은 상태였다. 자아 강화와 부정적인 모성의 변환을 목적으로 24회기의 모래놀이 상담을 시행하였다. 모래놀이 전 과정을 Campbell의 영웅신화 3단계인 출발, 입문, 귀환의 과정을 적용해 살펴보았다. 그리고 내담자의 트라우마가 황금 열쇠가 되어 이를 극복하는 과정에서 의식과 무의식의 통합으로 나아가는 개성화의 내적 성장이 이루어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 비교 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 출발(1회-4회) 단계에서 부모의 이혼으로 초등 2학년 때까지 양어머니를 친 어머니로 알고 6개월 차이 나는 여동생과 함께 자랐다는 발달사에서 영웅은 원래 태어나 버려지는 존재로 온갖 어려움을 극복하는 영웅의 여정의 부름을 받는다. 개성화 단계인 무의식의 촉구를 받아 내적인 삶으로 들어가는 단계이다. 내담자의 그림자 부분인 부정적인 모성성과 연약한 자아를 성장해 갈 것이라는 방향성을 보여주었다. 두 번째, 입문(I5회-18회) 단계에서 영웅이 고래의 뱃속 같은 관문을 통과하면서 고통을 겪게 된다. 시련을 극복하면서 여신과 만남이 이루어진다. 이 만남은 의식과 무의식을 통합하여 자기와 페르조나를 구별하고 그림자와 아니마, 아니무스를 의식화하여 자기를 찾아가는 진정한 의미의 성장이 일어나는 것을 확인하였다. 세 번째, 귀환(19회기~21회기)의 단계에서는 자신 안에 모든 것이 있다는 것을 깨닫고 현실에 적응하면서 자유로워져 개별적인 존재가 되는 과정으로 나아간다. 모래 상자에서 19회기에 예전에 놓았던 키를 쓴 소년 대신 힘이 있는 성인 남성이 등장하였고 20회기에서는 개별적인 존재가 되는 상승이 나타났다. 모래 상자의 마지막인 21회기에서는 이전 상자에서 누워 있던 여성이 일어나 드레스를 입고 결혼 예복을 입고 남성과 나란히 서 있어 통합을 시사하는 장면을 꾸몄다. 현실에서도 보수 보다 자신의 가치에 부합하는 타인과 환경에 유익을 주는 직장을 선택하는 소신 있는 모습이 나타났다. 이는 현실로 돌아온 영웅은 인류에 공헌하는 삶을 살아가겠다는 굳은 의지를 표현하는 것과 같다. 이는 모래놀이 상담 사례연구를 통하여, 캠벨의 영웅 여정을 기반으로 융의 개성화 과정인 페르조나를 구별하고 그림자와 아니마, 아니무스를 의식화하여 자기를 찾아가는 내적 성장의 과정을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study is a case of a middle-aged man. The client is intellectually excellent, but has not achieved psychologically balanced growth due to psychological problems (trauma) that occurred in the course of a dramatic life since childhood, has difficulties in interpersonal relationships, and has high levels of anxiety and depression. Sandplay counseling was conducted 24 sessions for the purpose of strengthening the ego and transforming negative motherhood. The entire process of sandplay was examined by applying Campbell's three stages of hero’s journey, the process of departure, initiation, and return. In addition, it was confirmed that the client’s trauma became the golden key and in the process of overcoming it, the inner growth of individuation progressed to the integration of consciousness and unconsciousness. The results of comparative analysis are as follows. At the beginning stage (Departure, episode 1-4), in the developmental history of knowing the adoptive mother as the birth mother until the second grade of elementary school due to the divorce of the parents and growing up with the 6 month younger sister, the hero was originally born and abandoned and went through all kinds of difficulties. Receive the call of the hero's journey to overcome. This stage of individuation is entering into the internal life that is urged by the unconscious. At this time, the client showed the direction to grow the negative maternity, guilt, and weak ego, which are the shadow parts. Second, in the initiation stage (5th - 18th), the hero goes through a gateway like the stomach of a whale and suffers. And while overcoming the ordeal, the meeting with the goddess takes place. This meeting confirmed that the growth in the true meaning of finding oneself occurs by integrating the conscious and the unconscious, distinguishing the self and persona, and consciously conscious of the shadow, anima, and animus. Third, in the stage of return (sessions 19 to 21), he realized that there is everything inside himself, adapt to the reality, become free, and move on to the process of becoming individual beings. In the sandbox, in the 19th session, a strong adult male appeared instead of a tall boy, and in the 20th session, the rise of being an individual appeared. And in the 21st episode, the last of the sandbox, a woman who had been lying down in the previous box got up and stood side by side with a man in a dress and wedding dress, suggesting integration. And in reality, they appeared to be confident in choosing a job that was beneficial to others and the environment that matched their values ​​rather than remuneration. The hero who returned to reality expressed his firm will to live a life that contributes to mankind. Accordingly, through a case study of sandplay counseling, based on Campbell’s hero’s journey, Jung’s process of individuation, persona, was distinguished, and the process of internal growth to find oneself by consciously consciously identifying the shadow, anima, and animus was confirmed.
