유아기 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 보육교직원의 인식 및 요구도

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 보육교직원의 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육에 대한 인식 및 요구를 파악하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 부산·경남지역의 국공립어린이집 보육교직원 249명과 민간어린이집 보육교직원 248명 총 497명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 지속가능발전교육에 대한 인식은 낮으나 필요성은 높게 나타났다. 지속가능발전교육에 대한 주요 인지경로는 TV 등 매체이며, 지속가능발전교육을 모르는 큰 이유로는 정보 접근의 어려움으로 나타났다. 지속가능발전교육이 필요한 이유로는 환경 보호에 대한 인식이 가장 높았으며 지속가능발전교육의 핵심내용에 대한 이해는 보통 이상이었으며, 환경적 관점, 사회적 관점, 경제적 관점이 유사한 빈도로 나타났다. 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용 관련 교육을 유아에게 교육한 경험유무에서는 있다는 응답이 높았으며, 주로 이야기 나누기 활동을 통해 교육을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용 교육에 대한 필요성도 높게 나타났으며, 그 이유로는 쓰레기 억제와 재사용, 재사용 습관/태도가 가장 높은 응답을 보였다. 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육의 비활성화 이유로는 ‘지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육에 대한 인식부족’이 가장 큰 원인으로 나타났다. 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육의 현장 적용의사는 매우 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 교육의 적정 연령대와 시간에 대해서 만 5세, 20∼30분미만, 월 1∼2회에 가장 높은 응답을 보였다. 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육 관련 교육 참여의사는 매우 높았으며, 연수방법으로는 교육자료 및 자원제공을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 보육교직원에게 지속가능발전교육에 대한 댜양한 교육의 기회를 제공하며 유아교육현장에서 적용할 수 있는 지속가능발전교육에 기반한 자원재활용교육 프로그램 개발, 보급이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify childcare professionals’ awareness and demands for resource recycling education based on Education for Sustainable Development(ESD). For this, a survey was conducted among 497 childcare professionals, comprising 249 from public and national kindergartens and 248 from private kindergartens in the Busan and South Gyeongsang Province areas. The results indicated a low level of awareness but a high necessity for ESD. The primary cognitive path for ESD was through media such as television, with a lack of information access being the significant reason for unfamiliarity with ESD. Environmental protection was the highest reason for the need for ESD, and understanding of the core content of ESD was above average, with environmental, social, and economic perspectives appearing with similar frequency. There was a high response in the experience of providing children with ESD-based resource recycling education, primarily through storytelling activities. The necessity for ESD-based resource recycling education was also high, with waste reduction and reuse, and the habit/attitude of reuse showing the highest response. The biggest reason for the inactivation of ESD-based resource recycling education was the ‘lack of awareness of ESD-based resource recycling education.’ The willingness to apply ESD-based resource recycling education in the field was very high, and the appropriate age and time for education were most responded to as five years old, less than 20-30 minutes, and once or twice a month. The willingness to participate in ESD-based resource recycling education was very high, and the preferred method of training was the provision of educational materials and resources. Therefore, it is necessary to provide various educational opportunities for sustainable development to childcare professionals and to develop and distribute ESD-based resource recycling education programs that can be applied in early childhood education settings.
