국문 초록

이 연구는 언어학과 현상학의 관점에서 ‘피지컬 리터러시’ 어휘 구조의 배경과 의미를 탐구하는 데 목적을 두었다. 먼저 언어학의 관점에서 피지컬 리터러시의 어휘 구조를 살펴본 결과, 환경에 대한 ‘읽기’ 및 ‘쓰기’의 통합 과정으로서 리터러시의 의미를 파악했으며, 피지컬 리터러시에 대한 한국어 번역어의 어휘 구조를 살펴본 결과, Whitehead의 의도에 충실하면서도 독자가 이해하기 쉽도록 재현해야 하는 번역자의 고뇌가 보였다. 이어서 현상학적 관점에서 피지컬 리터러시의 의미를 살펴본 결과, Whitehead의 관점에서는 운동 주체의 체화된 의식작용과 결부된 피지컬 리터러시의 측면으로서 ‘자아의 감각’, ‘타인과의 소통하기’, ‘환경과의 상호작용’ 등이 드러났고, Standal의 관점에서는 피지컬 리터러시의 철학적 토대가 일원론보다는 Merleau-Ponty의 현상학에 두어야 함을 강조했고 피지컬 리터러시의 대안적인 개념으로서 ‘조화로운 움직임’과 ‘환경을 읽고 쓰는 통찰력’을 강조하는 무브먼트 리터러시 개념이 드러났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the context and meaning of Physical Literacy lexical structure on the basis of linguistic and phenomenological perspectives. First, as a result of analyzing the lexical structure of Whiteheadʼs Physical Literacy(PL), the ʻliteracyʼ of PL which meant the ability to understand the movement through reading and writing the environment was determined. Second, as a result of analyzing translation PL into Korean, Korean translatorsʼ difficulties about representing Whiteheadʼs intent were disclosed. Third, as a result of analyzing the phenomenolgical meaning of Whiteheadʼs Physical Literacy, there were two perspectives. One was that Whiteheadʼs perspectives of ʻsense of selfʼ, ʻcommunication with othersʼ, and ʻinteraction with environmentʼ were related with an embodied consciousness of moving self, the other was that as Standalʼs two perspectives, first, the philosophical basis of Whiteheadʼs Physical Literacy should be replaced by Merleau-Pontyʼs phenomenology, not monism as suggested by Whitehead, second, Movement Literacy which focused both on ʻmoving with poiseʼ and ʻthoughtfulness reading and writing the movement environmentʼ should be recommended instead of PL.
