국문 초록

본 연구는 이주민이 이주민을 돕는 사회복지사가 되어가는 경험을 탐색하였으며, 그 결과 ‘환대’라는본질적 의미를 발견하였다. 이주민이 사회복지사가 되어가는 경험은 ‘인생 제2막, 결혼과 이주’,‘이주민에서 예비 사회복지사로’,‘예비 사회복지사에서 사회복지사로’,‘인생 제3막, 이주민을 돕는 사회복지사’ 의 4가지 주제로 구성된다. 본 연구에서 이주민이 경험한 환대는 시간과 공간의 변화에 따라 변화하였다. 타인의 도움을 받던 이주민에서 이주민을 돕는 사회복지사로 자신의 지위가 전환되면서, 환대의 방향이 전환되었고, 이주민들은 한국 사회에서 받은 낯선 이의 환대를 자기에게, 그리고 타인과 지역사회로 확장하였다. 연구자는 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 이주민 지원에 대한 정책적, 실천적 방안을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study explored the experience of immigrants becoming social workers who assist other immigrants, and as a result, discovered the essential meaning of ‘hospitality’. The immigrants' journey to becoming social workers was divided into four main themes: ‘The Second Act of Life: Marriage and Immigration’, ‘From Immigrant to Prospective Social Worker’, ‘From Prospective Social Worker to Social Worker’, and ‘The Third Act of Life: Social Worker Assisting Immigrants’. Throughout this study, the concept of hospitality experienced by immigrants underwent changes influenced by shifts in time and space. As immigrants transitioned from being recipients of assistance to becoming social workers helping others, the direction of hospitality transformed. The immigrants extended the hospitality they received from Korean society to themselves, as well as to others and the local community. Based on these research findings, the researchers proposed policy and practical suggestions for supporting immigrants.
