국문 초록

이 연구는 중학교 교사의 교직선택동기를 유형화하고 도출된 유형별 교사의 심리·행동적 특성의 차이를 구명하는 것이다. 연구 목적에 따라 OECD 국제교수학습조사(Teaching And Learning International Survey: TALIS) 2018의 중학교 교사 패널의 응답자료 중 이상치와 결측치를 제외하고 2,414명의 자료를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 교직선택동기의 유형화를 위해 잠재계층분석을 실시하였고, 교직선택동기 유형과 교사의 심리·행동적 특성의 차이를 분석하기 위해 공분산분석을 활용하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학교 교사의 교직선택동기 유형은 총 3가지(통합중시형, 개인효용중시형, 사회효용중시형)으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교직선택동기 유형별 교사의 심리·행동적 특성은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 구체적으로, 중학교 교사의 교사효능감, 직무만족도, 교사협력, 학습자중심 교수활동의 수준은 통합중시형-사회효용중시형-개인효용중시형 순으로 높은 경향을 보였다. 사회효용중시형과 개인효용중시형의 직무만족도 수준은 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 실천적 시사점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to categorize the motivational type to become a teacher of Korean middle-school teachers and to find out the differences in the psychological and behavioral characteristics of teachers by derived type. According to the purpose of the study, 2,414 data were used for the analysis, excluding outliers and missing values among the responses of the Korean middle-school teacher panel of the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey 2018(TALIS 2018). A latent class analysis was conducted to categorize the motivation to become a teacher, and covariance analysis was used to analyze the difference the psychological and behavioral characteristics of teachers according to motivational profiles. The main findings are as follows. First, there were a total of three types of motivation for Korean middle-school teachers to become a teacher(balanced-high motivation type, personal utility focusing type, and social utility focusing type). Second, there was a statistically significant difference in the psychological and behavioral characteristics of teachers by type of motivation to become a teacher. Specifically, the level of teacher efficacy, job satisfaction, teacher cooperation, and learner-centered teaching activities of Korean middle-school teachers tended to be high in the order of balanced-high motivation type, social utility focusing type, and personal utility focusing type. There was no statistically significant difference in the level of job satisfaction between the social utility focusing type and the personal utility focusing type. Based on the research results, practical implications and suggestions for follow-up research were presented.
