예술심리치료가 초등학교 저학년 자녀 어머니의 공감능력과 상호적 공감에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 예술심리치료가 초등학교 저학년 자녀 어머니의 공감능력과 상호적 공감에미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 연구대상은 초등학교 1-3학년 아동과 어머니들이었고 실험집단 10 명, 통제집단 9명이었다. 어머니를 대상으로 신체 자각과 수용 중심 예술심리치료 프로그램을총 8회기, 주 1회, 90-120분간 진행하였다. 공감 능력은 아동이 자각하는 부모의 공감 및 놀이상황에서 나타나는 부모의 상호적 공감을 평정자 2명이 측정하였다. 연구결과, 첫째로 자녀가지각하는 부모의 공감 능력에서는 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 사전-사후 비교 결과, 프로그램 시행 집단에서는 아동이 자각하는 부모의 공감능력이 향상되었다. 특히 정서 지각에서는 유의한 향상이 없었지만 관점 수용 및 공감적 정서 반응이 유의하게향상되었다. 둘째, 통제집단과 실험집단 간의 상호적 공감에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 통제집단에서는 오히려 수용적 의사소통이 감소하였으나 프로그램 시행 집단에서는 수용적 의사소통, 자녀의 자기 안내 허용과 개입이 유의하게 증가하였다. 예술심리치료에서의 자기회복과 치유적경험이 어머니의 양육 스트레스를 감소시키고 자녀가 지각하는 어머니의 공감적 태도 및 상호적 공감 반응에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 시사된다.

영문 초록

In this study, we examined the effects of art psychotherapy on empathy and interaction empathy in mothers of children in the lower elementary grades. The study subjects were children in grades 1-3 and their mothers, 10 in the experimental group and 9 in the control group. A physical awareness and acceptance-centered art psychotherapy program for mothers was conducted for a total of 8 sessions, once a week, for 90-120 minutes. Empathy was measured by two evaluators on the child's perceived parental empathy and the parents' interactive empathy in play situations. First, there was no significant difference in parental empathy perceived by children between the experimental and control groups. However, pre-post comparisons showed that children's perceived parental empathy improved in the program group. In particular, there was no significant improvement in emotional perception, but there was a significant improvement in perspective acceptance and empathic emotional response. Second, there was a significant difference in interaction empathy between the control group and the experimental group. In the control group, receptive communication decreased, but in the program group, receptive communication, allowing children to self-guide and intervention increased significantly. It is suggested that self-recovery and healing experiences in art psychotherapy reduce mothers' parenting stress and have a positive effect on mothers' perceived empathic attitudes and reciprocal empathic responses in children.
