Validity and Reliability of the Korean Version of the Social Justice Scale (K-SJS-24)

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 Torres-Harding 외(2012)가 개발한 ‘사회정의척도(the Social Justice Scale, SJS)’의 한국어판 척도를 개발하고 이의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하는 것이다. 2019년 행정안전부 주민등록인구 현황을 사용하여 지역, 성, 연령, 직업 비율에 맞춰 비례할당표집된 전국 만 19세 이상 성인 남녀 한국인 표본 1,000명을 대상으로 확인적 요인분석, 구조방정식 문항의 내적일관성, 이해타당도와 판별타당도 분석을 시행하였다. 확인적 요인분석과 구조방정식을 통해 원척도와 마찬가지로 사회정의에 대한 인식, 사회정의관련 행위 통제감, 주위의 사회정의에 대한 평가, 사회정의 관련 행동의지와 같이 4개 차원으로 구성되었다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 한국어판 사회정의척도(K-SJS-24) 척도는 CFI = .910, TLI = .900, RMSEA = .085, and SRMR = .072 등으로 모델 적합도가 양호한 것으로 평가되었다. 신뢰도 계수 또한 .87에서 .94의 범위를 지녀 문항의 내적일관성이 높았음이 확인되었다. 이밖에도 인권옹호문항과의 상관관계분석이 예측된 정적 관계로 나타나 이해타당도가 성립되었으며, 명시적 편견척도와의 상관관게분석은 예측된 부적 관계로 나타나 판별타당도가 성립되었다. 본 연구결과를 통해 한국판 사회정의척도(K-SJS-24)가 비교적 신뢰할 만하고 타당한 척도임을 확인할 수 있었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 시사점, 활용방안, 한계 및 추후 연구에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to validate a Korean Version of the Social Justice Scale (K-SJS-24). The study participants included 1,000 Korean adults aged 19 years and above who were recruited through a survey panel website. Several analyses were conducted, including reliability and validity assessments, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and confirmatory factor analysis, to examine the psychometric properties of the scale. Additionally, structural equation modeling was employed to investigate the relationships between latent factors, guided by Ajzen's theory of planned behavior. Consistent with the original scale developed by Torres-Harding, Siers, and Olson (2012), four factors, attitudes toward social justice (SJA), social justice perceived behavioral control (SJPBC), social justice subjective norms (SJSN), and social justice behavioral intentions (SJBI) were found in the Korean sample. The results and fit indices indicated an acceptable model fit for a four-factor model of the data (CFI = .910, TLI = .900, RMSEA = .085, and SRMR = .072). Therefore, the K-SJS-24 is a valid measurement tool that can be used in a Korean context. The implications for social work research, education, and practice were discussed.
