유아 인성의 개념 및 구성요인 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 선행연구의 분석을 토대로 유아 인성의 개념을 정립하고 그 구성 요인을 추출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2002년 1월부터 2016년 10월까지 국내에서 발표된 유아 인성교육과 유아 인성교육 프로그램 관련 112편 논문들의 내용에서 제시된 인성의 개념과 요인들을 분석하였다. 수집된 문헌들에 대한 질적 내용 분석을 실시한 후 귀납적인 방식에 의하여 총 57개의 유아 인성요소가 추출되었는데, 이 요소들은 개인과 대인 및 공동체의 3개의 영역에서 발현되는 것으로 정리되었다. 개인영역의 ‘개인지향’은 자율성, 자기존중 및 자기이해로 구성되는 ‘자아’와 성실과 도덕성의 ‘성품’의 범주로, 대인영역의 ‘타인지향’은 타인존중, 관계성, 긍정성, 사교성 및 지도성으로 구성되는 ‘사회성’과 나눔, 배려 및 협동의 ‘친사회성’의 범주로, 그리고 공동체영역의 ‘공동체지향’은 생명존중과 공동체의식 및 민주시민의식으로 구성되는 ‘공동체지향의식’과 질서, 공경, 예절, 사회적 책임의 ‘공동체지향행동’의 범주로 이루어진다고 분석되었다. 유아 인성의 개념적 구조에 대한 이러한 제안은 추후 경험적 구인 타당화를 통한 객관적 검증이 요청된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to establish the concept of children’s character and identify its variables, based on the analysis of previous research. For this purpose, selected were 92 theses and 20 academic articles related to child character education, published from January of 2002 to October of 2016 in Korea. A series of deductive analyses of the character elements cited or identified in those papers produced 57 common elements, which has further led us to propose a children’s character model of 20 variables of 6 categories in personal, social and communal domains. The personal domain of character named “personality” is proposed to have two character categories named “self”(including self-regulation, self-respect and self-understanding), and “humanity”(faithfulness and morality). The social domain named “interpersonal ability” is proposed to have two categories named “sociality”(including respect for others, relationship, positive attitude, receptiveness, and leadership), and “pro-socialness”(sharing, caring, and cooperating). The communal domain named “communal oriented-ness” is proposed to have two categories named “community consciousness” (including respect for life, solidarity, and democratic awareness), and “acting for community”(keeping order, respect for elders, observing the proprieties, and social responsibility).
