국문 초록

영화의 스토리텔링에서 3막 구조는 관객의 시선을 사로잡고 긴장과 갈등을 조성하며 만족스러운 해결을 제공한다. 애니메이션의 3막 구조 역시, 영화의 3막 구조 형식을 따르고 있지만 메타포, 즉 은유를 통해 더 깊은 이해나 감정적 희망을 만들기 위해 일반적으로 비슷하게 보이지 않는 두 가지를 비교하는 비유적 표현으로 관객들에게 다가간다. 본 연구에서는 영화에서 적용되는 3막 구조의 스토리텔링이 장편 애니메이션뿐만 아닌 러닝타임이 짧은 단편애니메이션에도 적용이 가능한지 살펴보기 위한 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 시드필드의 3막 구조 이론을 단편 애니메이션 와 에 적용하여 은유 스토리텔링의 기능에 대해 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과 단편 애니메이션 역시, 일반 영화, 장편 애니메이션과 거의 비슷한 형태의 3막 구조 형태를 띠고 있었고, 애니메이션이 가지고 있는 고유의 은유 기능은 복잡한 아이디어의 단순화, 스토리텔링 향상, 감정적 공감 만들기를 나타냈다.

영문 초록

In the storytelling of a film, the three-act structure captures the audience's attention, creates tension and conflict, and provides a satisfactory resolution. The animation's three-act structure also follows the film's three-act structure format, but it reaches the audience as a metaphor, a metaphor that compares two things that don't normally look alike in order to create a deeper understanding or emotional hope through metaphor. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the three-act structure of storytelling applied in film's can be applied not only to full-length animations but also to short animations with a short running time. To this end, Sidfield's three-act structure theory was applied to the short animations and to analyze the function of metaphorical storytelling. As a result of the analysis, short animations also had a three-act structure similar to general films and full-length animations. The unique metaphoric function of animation has been shown to simplify complex ideas, improve storytelling, and create emotional empathy.
