Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 학교 부적응 아동의 자기 인식 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교 부적응을 겪고 있는 초등학교 1-2 학년 아동의 자기 인식을 알아보고자 Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰를 시행하였다. Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰는 전체 41문항으로 1회에 15~25분씩 1~2회로 진행되었으며, 30명의 연구참여자가 참여하였다. Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰의 구조화된 질문에 대한 연구참여자들의 응답은 양적으로 분석하였고, 인터뷰 과정에 나타난 자발적인 의사 표현은 질적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 학교 부적응 아동의 학업 영역에서의 자기 인식은 학업능력은 높지만, 성취동기는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학교부적응 아동은 자조 능력과 문제해결력 모두 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 학교 부적응 아동의 사회성 영역에 대한 자기 인식은 또래 관계의 어려움이 있고, 사회적 관계기술이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 학교 부적응 아동의 정서 영역에 대한 자기 인식은 긴장감이 높고, 걱정이 많으며, 정서 조절력이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 Berkeley 퍼펫 인터뷰를 활용하여 학업 영역, 사회성 영역, 그리고 정서 영역 안에서의 구조화된 질문을 통해 학교 부적응 아동의 자기 인식을 객관적으로 살펴보았을 뿐 아니라, 학교 부적응을 겪고 있는 아동들의 자기 경험을 자발적인 자기표현을 통해 질적으로 분석하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 본 연구가 놀이치료자에게 학교 부적응을 호소하는 내담 아동의 이해를 돕고, 사례 개념화 및 상담계획을 수립하는 데 의미 있는 자료가 되길 기대한다. 또한 본 연구의 결과가 학교 현장에서 학교 부적응을 겪는 아동들을 돕는데 활용되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to conduct the Berkeley Puppet Interview to understand the self-awareness of children in grades 1 and 2 who are experiencing school maladjustment. The Berkeley Puppet Interview, consisting of a total of 41 questions, was conducted 1-2 times, 15-25 minutes per child, each time, at the Children's Counseling Center in Incheon. Among the collected data, research participants' responses to the structured questions of the Berkeley Puppet Interview were analyzed quantitatively, while spontaneous expressions expressed during the interview were analyzed qualitatively. The summary of the result is as follows: First, regarding the self-awareness of school maladjustment children in the academic competence expressed through the Berkeley Puppet Interview, it was found that their academic ability was high but their motivation for achievement was low. Second, as a result of analyzing the self-awareness of the social competence of school-maladjusted children revealed through the Berkeley Puppet Interview, it was found that they had difficulties in peer relationships. In addition, their social skills in school were low. Third, referring to the self-awareness in the emotional competence expressed through the Berkeley Puppet Interview by school-maladjusted children, it was found that they had high tension, high anxiety, and low emotional regulation. The study is significant in that it qualitatively analyzed the self-awareness of children who are suffering from school maladjustment through voluntary self-expression, as well as objectively examining their self-awareness through the structured questions in academic, social, and emotional competences using the Berkeley Puppet Interview. The author expects that this study will provide play therapists with opportunities to understand children who complain of school maladjustment, and become meaningful data in establishing case conceptualization and counseling plans, and that the results of this study will be used to help children who suffer from school maladjustment in the school field.
