코로나19 이후 스마트기기 일상화에 따른 초등학생 어머니의 양육 경험에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 코로나19 이후 아동의 스마트기기 사용이 일상화된 상황에서 이들을 양육하는 초등학교 3학년 자녀를 양육하는 어머니의 경험이 무엇인지 심층적으로 살펴보고 그 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 코로나19로 인한 온라인 입학 첫해인 2020년에 초등학교를 입학하여 현재 3학년인 아동을 양육하는 어머니 7명을 대상으로, 어머니가 촬영한 스마트기기와 관련한 일상 사진을 활용하여 면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, ‘품이 된 어머니’로 스마트기기 일상화에 따라 아동 돌봄에 시간을 조율하고 온라인학습지원을 위해 아동과 하나가 되었으며 스마트기기의 유해성으로부터 아동을 지키고자 고군분투하는 조율하는 어머니, 안아주는 어머니, 경직되는 어머니의 모습을 보였다. 둘째, ‘울타리가 되는 어머니’로 아동에게 정신화 활동을 하면서 촉진하고 관조하는 어머니 역할을 고려하고 Winnicott의 함께 살기를 실천하고 있었다. 결론: 코로나19 이후 스마트기기가 일상화된 양육환경 속에서 어머니는 나름으로 아동 돌봄에 최선을 다하였으며, 이 과정에서 돌봄 수혜자로서 어머니 지원의 필요성을 환대의 윤리 차원에서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objective: This study aimed to conduct an in-depth investigation of mothers’ of 3rd grade elementary school children experience in terms of children’s daily use of smart devices after COVID-19 and explore their meaning. Methods: Based on daily photos of their children related to smart devices taken by the mothers, interviews were conducted with seven mothers of children who entered 3rd grade in elementary school in 2020, the first year of online admission owing to COVID-19. Results: First, as a ‘the mother who became a embrace’ she adjusted her time for caring for children according to the daily use of smart devices, worked with her child to support online learning, and struggled to protect children from the harmful effects of smart devices. Second, as a “mother who becomes a fence”, mothers performed the role of a someone who encourages and considers children while engaging in mentalization and practicing Winnicott’s living together as a mutually subejective and adjustable relathionship in smart device daliy life. Conclusions: In a parenting environment where the daily use of smart devices after COVID-19, mothers did their best to care for children in their own way and in terms of the ethics of hospitality.
