초등학생 대상 환경교육 프로그램의 특성 분석

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 초등학생을 대상으로 하는 환경교육 프로그램 7종류를 선택하여 모듈의 내용을 지속가능발전교육 내용(환경/경제/사회문화적 측면), 환경교육의 내용(환경 지식/환경 태도⋅가치/환경 역량/환경 실천과 참여), 지속가능성에 대한 생태적/경제적/사회적 관점 등의 측면에서 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 지속가능발전교육 내용은 대부분의 환경교육 프로그램에서 골고루 다루어지고 있었다. 환경교육의 내용 측면에서도 대부분의 프로그램이 네 가지 범주에 해당하는 내용을 골고루 반영하고 있었지만, 협력과 공동체 역량, 상호작용적 의사소통 역량, 미래⋅디자인 사고 역량, 환경문제 해결 계획하기, 환경문제 해결 실행하기 등의 하위범주들은 상대적으로 소홀히 다루어지는 경향이 있었다. 지속가능성에 대한 관점 측면에서는 사회적 관점의 점수가 매우 낮았고 세 가지 차원의 관점이 통합적으로 제시되지 못하였다.

영문 초록

In this study, we investigated the contents of the modules of seven environmental education programs for elementary school students. Each module of the environmental education programs was analyzed in terms of the types of sustainable development goals (environmental/economical/sociocultural aspect), the contents of the corresponding environmental education (knowledge/attitude–value/competency/practice–participation), and the ecological/economic/social perspectives it represented. The results indicated that the types of sustainable development goals were properly covered by most environmental education programs. Generally, four categories of the content of environmental education were appropriately introduced in most programs. However, some subcategories were not properly covered, such as cooperation and community competency, interactive communication competency, future/design thinking competency, solution creation for environmental problems, and the associated solution implementation. Moreover, the social perspective was barely found in most environmental education programs and the integrative perspective was also not represented in most of these programs.
