국문 초록

본 원고는 불교의 비구, 비구니<자료 1>, 재가 남녀 신도들의 의식조사<자료 2>를 기초하여, 한국불교의 위기를 진단하고 미래 불교를 준비하기 위한 하나의 작은 연구이다. 특히 MZ 세대들의 불교적 성향으로 나타난 자료를 바탕으로 한국불교의 미래지향을 위한 대응을 모색한다. 현재 한국불교의 위기는 사회 체계적 차원의 세속화와 행위적 차원의 탈종교화가 동반하여 불교 인구의 초고령화를 위시한 다양한 모습의 쓰나미가 몰려올 것으로 예상한다. 현대사회에서 종교는 다양한 사회적 기능체계 중 하나로 변방에 위치하며, 한국의 다원화된 종교시장의 한 부분일 뿐이다. 무엇보다 저출산/초고령화의 인구구조를 향하는 한국 인구구조의 변화는 불교 인구의 감소와 불교 위기에 큰 영향을 끼친다. 이는 한국불교의 재생산(reproduction) 문제에도 크게 영향을 끼쳐, 승가의 붕괴와 이로 인한 불교 교리 교육과 수행의 부재를 양산, 질적 양적 위기를 가져온다. 이러한 위기에서 미래 불교를 책임질 MZ 세대의 신행 의식조사에서 그들의 종교적 경험과 지향하는 방향에서 변화와 기회를 고찰하고자 했다. 여기서 승가의 청정성을 구현하는 것이야말로 불교발전의 가장 기본적이고 중요한 토대이며, 가장 우선되어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 한국불교 승가의 구조적 문제에 대한 종책 해법을 마련하는 일이 가장 시급한 과제로 떠올랐다. 둘째, 미래 한국불교는 보살도 실천을 강화하는 방향을 지향하면서 시대 변화에 맞게 관행을 혁신하고, 나아가 실생활에 유익한 방향으로 실용화하는 것이다. 무엇보다 한국불교에 요구되는 가장 시급한 사회적 역할은 주체적인 차원에서는 세대교체와 더불어 의식이나 태도의 변화가 수반되어야 하며, 이를 통해 현대사회의 해결 불가능 영역으로 간주하는 공유지의 비극을 해결하는 참여 불교를 실현하는 것이다. 이는 불교가 가진 특성을 살려 공공성을 강화한다면 미래 불교는 희망이 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This manuscript is a small study for diagnosing the crisis of Korean Buddhism and preparing for future Buddhism, based on the Buddhist monks and nuns , and a survey of the consciousness of male and female members of the household . In particular, it seeks to respond to the future orientation of Korean Buddhism based on the data shown by the Buddhist tendencies of the MZ generation. The current crisis of Korean Buddhism is accompanied by secularization in the social system level and dereligion in the behavioral level, and it is expected that a tsunami of various forms including the super-aging of the Buddhist population is expected. In modern society, religion is located on the periphery as one of various social functioning systems, and is only a part of Korea's diversified religious market. Above all, the change in the Korean demographic structure toward the low birth rate/super-aging demographic structure has a major impact on the decline of the Buddhist population and the Buddhist crisis. This greatly affects the reproduction problem of Korean Buddhism, resulting in the collapse of the Sangha, resulting in the absence of Buddhist catechesis and training, resulting in a qualitative and quantitative crisis. In this crisis, the MZ generation, who will be responsible for future Buddhism, investigated changes and opportunities in the direction of their religious experiences and orientation. Here, realizing the purity of the Sangha is the most basic and important foundation for the development of Buddhism and should be given the highest priority. To this end, the most urgent task was to come up with a solution to the structural problems of the Korean Buddhist monks. Second, future Korean Buddhism aims to strengthen the practice of Bodhisattva, while innovating practices in line with the times and putting them into practical use in a beneficial direction for real life. Above all, the most urgent social role required for Korean Buddhism must be accompanied by a change in consciousness and attitude along with a generational change at the subjective level. it will come true If we take advantage of the characteristics of Buddhism to strengthen the public nature, future Buddhism can be a hope.
