체계적 문헌 고찰을 통한 교과교육에서 시선추적기를 활용한 연구 분석

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 교과교육 연구에서 최근 증가하는 시선추적기를 활용한 연구에 주목하였다. 시선추적기 및 관련 프로그램은 자극물에 대한 시각 정보를 실시간으로 여러 자료 형태로 수집, 분석하기 때문에 교수 학습 과정을 살펴보는 데 유용하다. 이에 교과교육 분야에서 시선추적기를 활용한 국내 연구를 대상으로 체계적 문헌 검토를 실시하였다. 3인의 연구자가 3차 검토를 통해 선정한 115편의 논문을 시기별, 교과별, 연구대상별로 나누어 살펴본 결과 시선추적 데이터 활용 논문은 20 15년 이후 양적 성장의 기반을 이루었고 교과별로는 과학, 국어, 수학, 외국어 순으로 활발한 연구가 이루어졌다. 초등학생을 대상으로 한 연구가 많았지만 교과별로 주된 연구 대상은 달랐다. 또한 학습자, 교수자, 학습자-교수자의 시선으로 나누어 분석한 결과 교육 내용에 대한 학습자의 시선을 중심으로 학습자의 배경 변인에 따른 인지적 과정을 추론한 연구가 주를 이루었다. 그리고 교과별 실험 설계와 보고 방식을 살펴보기 위해 삼각검증 유무, 시선 데이터의 종류, 시선추적기의 종류, 자극물의 유형과 개수를 살펴본 결과, 시선데이터 분석만으로 이루어진 연구가 많았고 시선데이터는 시간적, 공간적 데이터를 주로 활용했다. 교과별 특성을 반영한 자극물의 유형은 다양했지만 자극물의 수, 실험 대상의 수는 통계적 방법을 적용하기에 부족했다. 보고 방식의 경우 연구마다 다르고 일부 보고 내용이 누락되는 경우가 있었다. 이러한 검토를 바탕으로향후 연구 방향과 내용에 대한 논의 사항을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

In this study, the researchers focused on the recently increasing researches using eye-trackers in subject education. Eye-trackers and related programs are useful for research of subject education as they collect and analyze learners’ perception of visual information in real time in various data formats. Accordingly, a systematic literature review was conducted for domestic studies using eye-trackers in the field of subject education. In examination of 115 papers selected through the three times review by three researchers by period, subject, and research subject, the results showed that papers using gaze data have formed the basis for quantitative growth since 2015. Also, at subject-level, active research has been conducted in the order of science, Korean, mathematics, and foreign language. There were many studies targeting elementary school students, but the main participants were different for each subject. In addition, in analysis divided by learner, instructor, and learner instructor’s gaze, the result showed that research on the cognitive process according to the learner’s background variables was most common, focusing on the learner's gaze on educational contents. Also, to examine the experimental design and reporting method for each subject, the presence or absence of triangular verification, the type of eye-tracking data, the type of eyetracker, and the type and number of stimuli were examined. Many of the studies that consisted only of eye tracking data analysis, and for the gaze data, temporal and spatial data were mostly used. Although the types of stimuli were diverse, the number of stimuli and study subjects were insufficient to apply statistical methods. Reporting methods differed from study to study, and in some reports, they were omitted. Based on this review, discussions on future research directions and contents were proposed.
