국문 초록

본 연구는 COVID-19 팬데믹 시대에 중등영어교사들이 교육과 행정 업무를 수행하기 위해 어떠한 임무(duty)와 과업(task)을 수행하는지 교육관련 업무와 그 외 행정관련 업무로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 수도권의 중,고등학교 영어교사들이 전문가로 참가하였고, 한 명의 사회자, 서기와 관측자들로 DACUM 직무분석을 실시하였다. 연구 참가자들의 주관성을 배제하고자 여러 차례 워크숍을 통해 중등영어교사들의 임무와 과업을 열거, 분류, 재분류 및 검토를 반복 수행하여 직무 매트릭스 모형을 도출하였다. 그 결과 총 9개의 임무가 도출되었고, 그 중 교육과 관련된 임무는 총 4개 1) 교과 수업, 2) 평가, 3) 학생 생활지도, 4) 담임교사 임무였으며, 행정 업무는 5) 학교행사, 6) 학교 행정 임무, 7) 부장교사의 임무, 8) 교원 외 인력관리 임무 및 9) 전문성 계발 및 유관기관 관련 임무로 분류되었다. 각 임무에서는 세부 과업들이 도출되어 중등영어교사들이 COVID-19 팬데믹 시대에 중요하게 수행해야 할 과업을 찾아낼 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 팬데믹 시대의 중등영어교사들에게 요구되는 역량을 찾아내고, 이를 함양하기 위한 교원양성기관의 교육과정 개발에 교육적 의의를 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the educational and administrative duties performed by secondary English teachers in the era of COVID-19 by separating them into education-related and other administrative duties. As experts, middle and high school English teachers from Seoul and Gyeonggi Province participated in the DACUM workshops, along with one facilitator, writers, and observers. To eliminate the subjectivity of the study participants, a job matrix model was developed by repeatedly enumerating, classifying, reclassifying, and reviewing the duties and tasks of secondary English teachers in workshops. Education-related tasks included 1) teaching, 2) assessment and evaluation, 3) guidance and discipline, and 4) homeroom teacher tasks; administrative tasks included 5) school events and activities, 6) school administrative tasks, 7) administrative works of department chief teachers, 8) other human resource management, and 9) professional development and inter-organizational works. Detailed tasks were extracted from each duty, allowing secondary English teachers to identify crucial tasks to complete during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study have pedagogical implications for the curriculum development of teacher training institutions to identify and cultivate the competencies required of secondary English teachers in the pandemic era.
