인지촉진도구로서 이미지 활용에 대한 미술치료전공 박사과정생의 체험 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 미술치료전공 박사과정생이 인지촉진도구로서 이미지를 활용하여 어떤 체험을 하는지 탐구하고, 그 체험의 의미와 본질은 무엇인지에 대한 이해를 제공하는 것이다. 연구참여자는 현재 미술치료전공 박사학위 과정 중에 있으며 석사과정 졸업 후 미술치료를 수행한 경험이 1년 반~5년 이하인 6인이다. 자료수집은 2021년 9월부터 2022년 6월 사이에 2회의 심층면담과 추가 자료 수집을 통해 이루어졌다. 자료분석은 Max van Manen의 해석학적 현상학 연구방법으로 참여자들의 생생한 경험과 일화를 드러내는 데 집중하였다. 연구 결과 참여자들은 이미지를 자신을 표현하는 친숙하고 안전한 매개로 여겼고, 이를 통해 앎에 대한 호기심이 자극되었다. 이미지로 시각화 하는 과정에서 참여자들은 몰입감을 경험하고 감정이 해소되었으며, 이미지 속에 존재하는 확장된 자신을 인식하고 비선형적 깨달음과 다양한 관점을 통해 통합적으로 자신을 이해하게 되었다. 마지막으로 인지촉진도구로서 이미지를 활용함으로써 이미지의 힘을 신뢰하며 미술치료사로서의 정체성에 대한 확신을 다지게 됨을 확인하였다. 본 논문은 4차 산업 혁명 시대에 이미지의 인지 촉진 기능에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고 심리치료 분야에서 이미지 활용을 위한 기초연구로 기여하고, 교과목내에서 이미지를 활용하여 교육적 효과를 높이는 방안을 제시하는 연구로서도 활용되리라 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore what the art therapy doctoral students experience using images as cognitive promotion tools. For them, images are a familiar and safe means of expression and an important tool for promoting and developing their thoughts. They understand themselves at a deeper level by exploring themselves through image work, and the joy of creative immersion is a supportive resource. Images become a medium that promotes cognition, so that they can understand the content of the subject and themselves in an integrated way. By trusting the power of image, they remind themselves that image is the core of their art therapy identity, and support themselves as art therapists. Applying Max van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological research methods to reveal the experience and interpret its meaning, this paper is expected to be used as a study to broaden the understanding of the cognitive function of images in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, to contribute as a basic study for the use of images in the field of psychotherapy, and to suggest ways to enhance educational effectiveness by using images as a cognitive promotion tool.
