49재의 애도 효과성에 대한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 49재 참여자의 애도과정에 대해 탐색하기 위하여 전체적으로 일관된 인터뷰와 합의적 질적 분석 방법(consensual qualitative research, CQR)을 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 49재의 참여 동기는 무엇인가?, 둘째, 49재를 통한 애도경험은 무엇인가?, 셋째, 49재 이후 참여자의 심리적 상태는 어떠한가? 이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 49재를 참여하게 된 동기에 대해 탐색한 결과, 종교가 불교인 경우, 고인께서 살아생전에 절에 모실 것을 부탁한 경우가 대다수였다. 둘째, 49재를 통한 부모 사별 이후의 경험에 대해 분석한 결과, 정서적, 인지적, 행동적 측면의 3개 영역에서 11개의 범주가 도출되었다. 셋째, 49재를 마친 후의 심리적 상태에 대해 분석한 결과, 정서적 측면, 인지적 측면의 2개 영역에서 5개의 범주가 도출되었다. 이를 통해 사별 이후 심리적 어려움에 대한 예방 및 개입의 바람직한 방향에 대해 불교 의례인 49재와 49재의 치유기제와 관련된 기초적인 정보를 제공하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the mourning experience of participants in the 49 Day Funeral Ceremony, using interviews and consensual qualitative analysis. The research problems of this study are as follows. First, what is the motivation for participation in the 49 Day Funeral Ceremony? Second, what is the experience of mourning through the 49 Day Funeral Ceremony? And third, what is the psychological state of the participants after the 49 Day Funeral Ceremony? The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of searching the motivation for participation, the religion of participants was Buddhism, and the deceased asked to be at the temple in his lifetime. Second, as a result of analyzing filial piety after parental bereavement, 11 categories were derived from three domains. Third, as a result analyzing the psychological state, five categories were derived from two areas of emotional and cognitive experiences. This study provided the basis for information and guidance related to the Buddhist rituals, the 49 Day Funeral Ceremony and the 49 Day Funeral Ceremony’s rehabilitation mechanisms on the desirable direction of prevention and intervention of psychological difficulties after parental bereavement of middle-aged women.
