내용교과 수업에 나타난 교사의 교과 어휘 사용 양상 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 내용교과인 사회와 과학 수업에서 교사의 발화에 포함된 어휘를 양적으로 분석하여, 내용교과 학습 과정에서 요구되는 언어적 자원으로서 어휘 교육에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 사회와 과학 수업 중 교사의 발화에 포함된 어휘의 빈도를 어휘 다양도, 밀도, 정교성을 통해 양적으로 분석하고, 수업이라는 구어 의사소통 상황에서 교사 어휘의 특징을확인하였다. 또 교과 학습 과정에서 학습자의 지식 구성에 필수적으로 요구되는 교과 어휘의 사용 양상을 개별 단어 비율 및점유율을 통해 확인하고, 그 차이를 비교하였다. 이 과정을 통해 내용교과 교수학습에서 교사 발화의 중재적 역할과 교과별어휘 사용상의 특징을 확인하였다. 이에 본 연구는 교과 학습에서 요구되는 어휘 교육을 위한 교과문식성 차원의 접근이 필요함을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study was intended to explore the implications for vocabulary education as a linguistic resource required in the content subject learning process by quantitatively analyzing the vocabulary included in the teacher’s utterances in contents subject of social studies and science classes. The frequency of vocabulary included in the teacher’s utterances during social studies and science classes was analyzed in terms of vocabulary diversity, density, and sophistication, and the characteristics of the teacher’s vocabulary were confirmed in the situation of verbal communication in classes. In addition, in the course of subject learning, the pattern of use of subject vocabulary, which is essential for the formation of knowledge of learners, was confirmed through the ratio and share of individual words, and the differences were compared. Through this process, the mediating role of teacher’s speech in teaching and learning of content subjects and the characteristics of vocabulary use by subject were confirmed. Based on the results, this study emphasized an approach disciplinary literacy is needed for vocabulary education required in subject learning.
