초등체육수업의 진단과 개선 과제 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등체육수업의 현재를 진단하고 신체적 역량 함양을 위한 교과 특성과 초등학생의 움직임 발달특성이 온전하게 조화되는 체육수업 지도를 위한 개선 과제를 탐색하고 이를 위한 교사 역량 과제에 대하여 논의하였다. 연구 결과, 초등체육수업의 진단에서는 ‘초등답지 못한 초등체육수업, 즐거움을 추구하는 놀이교육, 학년군 간 벽을 허무는 경쟁형 활동, 온라인에서 외면 받는 체육수업’으로 구체화하였다. 이에 대한 개선 과제로 ‘유‧초‧중등 연계성 확보, 신체활동 계열성 고려, 학생 주체적 문제해결을 위한 융합형 수업, 온‧오프라인 연계형 체육수업’의 지도방법에 대하여 탐색하였다. 이를 효과적으로 지도하기 위한 교사 역량으로는 Jess(2012)의 초등체육 복합성을 이론적 틀로 하여 ‘초등체육의 교과 특성, 학습자로서의 초등학생, 수업환경의 특성’을 중심으로 논의하였다. 연구결과 및 논의를 바탕으로 초등체육의 재개념화를 위한학문적 논의의 필요성, 초등교사들이 체육수업의 가치를 인식하고 효과적으로 지도하기 위한 전문성 개발 프로그램의 지원, 초등체육의 독자적 특성이 현장에서 구현될 수 있는 제도적 방안에 대하여 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the present status of elementary PE classes. In doing so, it explored the guidance measures to ensure complete harmony of physical and characteristics development of children in the subject. In addition, the discussion was made on the competencies required for teachers to effectively guide elementary school PE. As a result of the study, the analysis of elementary PE classes was specified as ‘PE classes not suitable for elementary students, funseeking play education, cross-disciplinary competitive activities and PE classes failing to get attention online.’ As a direction of improvement, the researchers explored how to guide ‘student behavior-subjective competency, convergence education centered on physical activities, securing connection between elementary and secondary schools, and online and offline PE classes.’ For teacher's competency to effectively guide this, Jess (2012)'s complexity of elementary PE was discussed based on the theoretical framework, focusing on the subject characteristics of elementary PE, elementary school students as learners, and the class environment. Based on the research results and discussions, suggestions were made on the need for academic discussions to reconceptualize elementary school PE, support for professional development programs for elementary school teachers to recognize and effectively guide the value of PE classes, and institutional measures for the independent characteristics of elementary PE to be implemented in the field.
