영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge of and attitudes toward advanced directives among nursing students. This study was performed with a descriptive survey design. The participants were 247 nursing students in G city. The study period was from April 12 to April 25, 2022. Data were collected with a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed with IBM SPSS statistics 21.0 program using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe, Pearson correlation coefficients. The knowledge of advance directives of nursing students was different according to age (F=8.72, p<0.001), grade (F=7.13, p<0.001), religion (t=2.22, p=0.027), awareness of hospice (t=2.55, p=0.023), awareness of the Hospice, Palliative Care, and Life-sustaining Treatment Decision-making Act (t=4.15, p<0.001) and Experience with Ads (t=2.00, p=0.047). The attitudes toward advance directives was different according to awareness of hospice (t=2.30, p=0.023) and experience in writing living will (t=2.50, p=0.013). As the result of this study, The knowledge toward advance directive was slightly high and the attitudes toward advance directive was relatively high compared to the findings of previous studies. There was a positive correlation between the knowledge and attitudes towards advance directives, and it was statistically significant (r=0.19, p=0.002). Therefore, it is necessary to develop a tool to measure the knowledge and attitude of nursing students on the Advance directives, including the contents of the Life-sustaining Treatment Decision Act.
