부모공감이 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 부모의 공감이 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고, 두 변인의 관계를 유아의 자아존중감이 매개하는지 알아보았다. 만 4, 5세 유아 267명과 그들의 부모와 교사를 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0을 사용하여 다음과 같은 방법으로 분석하였다. 각 변인의 평균과 표준편차, 최소값과 최대값을 구하였으며, 부모공감, 유아의 자아존중감, 정서조절능력의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 자아존중감의 매개모델효과를 알아보기 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제시한 매개효과 검증절차를 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 부모의 공감능력은 유아의 정서조절능력에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 부공감의 경우 모공감보다 정서조절능력에 더 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부의 공감은 유아의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향이 미비하였으며. 모의 공감은 부공감에 비해 유의한 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 정서조절능력은 자아존중감에 의해 일정부분 설명됨을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 자아존중감은 모공감과 정서조절능력과의 관계에서 약 2%의 설명력을 가지고 부분매개효과를 나타내었으며, 모의 인지적 공감에서는 완전매개효과를 보였다. 모 인지적 공감의 하위영역인 상상하기는 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This research investigated whether the empathy of parents influences the children’s emotion regulation and how the two variables mediated self-esteem. The participants in this research were 267 parents and teachers of children aged 4 and 5. The results of the research was analysed by using the SPSS 18.0 program. The variables average, standard deviation, minimum and maximum value was calculated; in order to understand the relationship between parent’s empathy, children’s self-esteem and emotion regulation a correlation analysis and regression analysis was carried out. In order to find out about mediation effects of self-esteem the identifying procedure of Baron and Kenny (1986) was used. The result were summarized. as follows : Firstly, it was discovered that the empathy of parents influences a child’s ability to control their emotions, it was further discovered that there is a difference between mother’s empathy and father’s empathy. Secondly, it was discovered that a father’s empathy towards the child’s ability to control their emotions was deficient. In comparison to the father’s empathy, the empathy by mothers displayed a superior level of attention. Thirdly, it was revealed that a fixed part of self-esteem can be explain by the ability to control one’s emotions. Fourthly, it was discovered that in the self-esteem the relationship between a mothers empathy and the ability to control one’s emotions can be explained by roughly 2% and partial mediation effect also appeared, regarding the mother’s cognitive empathy the influence of the fully mediation effect was seen. It was confirmed that a mother’s cognitive empathy in the sub factors imagination had a statistically significant partial mediation effect.
