초임 기술 교사의 교직 효능감과 학교현장 적응

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초임 기술 교사들의 교직 효능감을 조사하고 학교 현장 경험을 바탕으로 교직 적응 과정에서의 어려움과 대처 방안을 탐색하는 것이었다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 혼합 연구 방법 중 동시적 연구 설계 방법을 활용하였으며, 양적 자료와 질적 자료를 수집하기 위해 전국의 초임 기술 교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 분석하였다. 연구대상으로 선정된 초임 기술 교사는 교직 경력 4년 미만의 초임 기술 교사들로 2018년부터 2021년까지 학교 현장에 발령받아 근무 중인 교사들로 구성되었다. 설문 문항은 양적 자료의 수집을 위해 교직 효능감을 묻는 문항으로 구성하였고, 질적 자료의 수집을 위해 초임 기술 교사들의 교과 지도 측면, 생활 지도 측면, 행정업무 측면에서의 어려운 점과 해결하기 위한 노력을 묻는 문항으로 구성하였다. 그 결과 초임 기술 교사들의 교직 효능감은 교과 지도 효능감, 생활 지도 효능감, 대인관계 효능감의 영역 모두 전반적으로 높은 평균값을 나타냈지만 실제 학교 현장에서는 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 교과 지도에 있어서 ‘수업계획’, ‘실습 환경’, ‘동료 교사’, ‘학생’, ‘전문성’ 측면에서 어려움을 겪고 있으며, ‘전문성 향상’, ‘수업계획’, ‘실습 운영’, ‘학생 흥미’ 등의 노력으로 어려움을 극복하고 있었다. 생활 지도 측면에서는 ‘학생과 관계’, ‘다양한 학생’, ‘생활 지도 방법’, ‘교우관계 지도’, ‘학급 운영’ 측면에서 어려움을 겪고 있으며, ‘학생과의 관계 개선’, ‘동료 교사 및 학교 관리자와 관계’, ‘학급 운영 노력’, ‘전문성 개발’ 등의 노력으로 어려움을 극복하고 있었다. 마지막으로 행정업무 측면에서는 ‘업무 수행 부담’, ‘업무 미숙’, ‘동료 교사의 협력’ 측면에서 어려움을 느끼고 있었으며, ‘동료 교사 및 학교 관리자의 협조’, ‘교사 개인의 노력’ 등의 노력으로 어려움을 극복하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론을 종합해보면 초임 기술 교사의 성공적인 교직 적응을 위해 지속적이고 반복적인 연수를 제공함으로써 연수에서 학습한 내용을 실제 현장에 적용하고 피드백을 받을 수 있는 기회를 제공할 필요가 있으며, 초임 기술 교사들의 역량을 펼칠 수 있는 협조적인 교직 문화와 교과지도 및 생활지도를 지원할 수 있는 인프라의 확충이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The goals of this study were to investigate the efficacy of novice technology teachers and to find out the difficulties and the solutions in adapting to the teaching profession. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a simultaneous research design method among mixed research methods was used, and an on-line survey was distributed to new technology teachers nationwide. The novice technology teachers selected for the study were technology teachers with less than 4 years of teaching experience, and were composed of teachers firstly assigned to the school site from 2018 to 2021. For quantitative data collection, this study employed instruments composed of items asking about the teaching efficacy. In addition, the qualitative data collection were collected by the open-ended questions regarding the difficulties and solutions associated with subject teaching, guidance, and administrative work of novice technology teachers. As a result, novice technology teachers experienced difficulties in class planning , practicum environment , colleagues , and students in subject teaching, and they made efforts like improving professionalism , class planning , and practice operation to solve the difficulties. In terms of the guidance, they experienced difficulties in relationships with students , various students , guidance methods , friendship guidance , and they made efforts like class management , relationships with fellow teachers and school administrators , class management efforts , and professional development to overcome the difficulties. Lastly, for administrative work, they experienced difficulties in terms of work burden , work immaturity , and colleague . In conclusion, it is necessary to provide an opportunity to apply the contents learning in the training to the actual classes and receive feedback by providing continuous training for successful adaptation to the teaching profession for new technology teachers. It is necessary to expand the infrastructure that can support the cooperative teaching culture.
