예비교사 온라인 멘토링 봉사 프로그램 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 전남지역 국립대학교 예비교사 원격 멘토링 봉사 프로그램의 사례 연구를 다루고 있다. 코로나19로 인해공교육에서 학생간의 급격한 학력 차이가 발생되었고, 사각지대에 놓여 교육을 제대로 받지 못하는 중고교 학생들이 많은실정이다. 이에 대해 교육부는 대학 기관으로의 지원을 통해 공교육 활성화에 박차를 가하고 있다. 본 연구의 멘토링 봉사 프로그램은 여러 프로그램 중 하나로 공교육 지원, 즉 봉사 멘토링을 통해 교육적 도움이 필요한 중학생을 돕는 목표로 진행되었으며, 이 프로그램의 참여 대상은 사범대학 각 소속학과 예비교사들이며 교육 대상은 기초학력 미달 중학생이었다. 코로나19 상황을 고려하여 멘토링 봉사 프로그램은 원격 온라인 수업으로 진행되었다. 본 연구는 원격 멘토링 봉사프로그램의 사례연구를 보여줌으로써 21세기 테크놀로지 시대에 교육을 이끄는 예비교사들에게 원격 멘토링 봉사활동을장려하는 데에 그 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 주요 내용으로는 프로그램의 추진 배경, 내용, 방법이고 영어교육과 멘토링 활동 과정을 그 사례로 살펴보고자 한다. 결과는 참여 멘토들의 경험, 성찰 및 느낀점과 프로그램에 참여했던 중학생들의 만족도 조사 결과를 토대로 기술되었다. 본 연구는 이해관계자들(stakeholders)이 멘토링 봉사단 프로그램의 취지와 목적에 대해 상호 이해, 존중, 협력하고 개선점을 보완하도록 하며 원격학습 커뮤니티 조성의 방향을 이끌어야 한다는 교육적 제언을제시하였다.

영문 초록

This is a case study of an online mentoring service program for preservice teachers at a national university in Jeollanam-do. COVID-19 caused a drastic severe gap in academic achievement among students in public education, and there are many secondary school students who are left in a blind spot, without receiving proper education. To address the situation, the Ministry of Education is accelerating its efforts to revitalize public education through support for higher education institutions. The online mentoring program in this study was one of several programs designed to help middle school students in need of educational assistance through public education support, that is, volunteer online mentoring. Preservice teachers studying in the nine departments at the College of Education served as online mentors, and the target mentees were middle school students with below-average basic academic skills. In consideration of the COVID-19 situation, the mentoring program was conducted online as a remote class. The purpose of this study is to show a case study of an online mentoring service program, to eventually promote online mentoring service activities for preservice teachers who will lead education in the 21st century technology era. Key areas of the study included the background, contents, and method of the mentoring program, and mentoring activities were presented as examples. The findings of this study presented the experiences and reflections of the participating mentors and the results from the satisfaction survey with the middle school students who participated in the program. Based on the study, suggestions were made that stakeholders should understand, respect, and cooperate with each other for the gist of the mentoring program, continue working on to make further improvement, and lead the direction of the distance learning community.
