유아기 인성교육을 위한 유아교사의 훈육에 대한 의미 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 인성교육을 위한 유아교사의 훈육에 대한 의미를 탐색하기 위한 것이었다. 이를 위해 유아교사 120명을 대상으로 개방형 질문지를 실시하였으며 이를 바탕으로 5명의 유아교사들을 면담하고 그 내용을 질적으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 유아교사들은 첫째, 유아기 인성교육을 위해 훈육은 반드시 필요하나 최소한의 훈육이어야 한다. 둘째, 효과적인 훈육방법을 찾기는 어려우나 유아와 좋은 관계를 형성한다면 그 효과를 높일 수 있다. 셋째, 훈육에서 갈등과 고민은 그 강도와 일관성이다. 넷째, 훈육의 내용은 사회적 관계에 대한 금지와 허용에 대한 것이다. 다섯째, 훈육은 교사의 기다리기와 마음읽기가 중요하다로 나타났다. 본 결과를 바탕으로 유아교사의 훈육을 효율적인 교실운영으로 접근할 필요성과 유아교사의 정신건강 증진 및 교사-부모의 파트너십 형성을 위한 지원과 교사교육의 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of early childhood teacher’s discipline for character education in early childhood. For this purpose, the researchers conducted open-ended questionnaire surveys with 120 early childhood teachers and held interviews with 5 early childhood teachers. The findings was as follows. First, discipline among teachers is needed to facilitate young children’s character education, but less discipline is better. Second, it is difficult to find effective methods of discipline, and effectiveness of the discipline depends on how good the relationship is between the teacher and children. Third, teachers are concerned about the appropriateness and consistency of discipline methods. Forth, the primary topics of discipline are permission and prohibition in social relationships, such as peer relations. Fifth, the important factors of discipline are patience and sympathy on the part of the teacher. The findings of this study imply that there is a need for further investigation of discipline as an effective classroom management tool, as well as a need for support to improve teachers’ mental health and forster teacher-parent partnerships.
