원장의 코칭리더십과 유아교사의 정서지능이 교사-유아 상호작용에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교사를 대상으로 원장의 코칭리더십과 교사의 정서지능이 교사-유아 상호작용에 미치는 직‧간접적인 영향을 살펴보는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 만 3세에서 5세 유아를 담당하고 있는 교사 283명을 대상으로 원장의 코칭리더십, 교사의 정서지능, 교사-유아 상호작용을 측정하였으며, 수집된 자료는 기술통계치, Pearson의 적률상관분석, 구조방정식모형(SEM) 분석을 통하여 분석되었다. 그 결과 교사-유아 상호작용에 원장의 코칭리더십과 교사의 정서지능은 직접적으로 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 원장의 코칭리더십이 교사-유아 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 경로에서 교사의 정서지능의 매개효과가 확인되었다. 마지막으로 교사-유아 상호작용에 교사의 정서지능이 가장 큰 직접적인 효과와 인과효과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 교사-유아 상호작용의 증진을 위하여 교사의 정서지능 함양이 중요할 뿐만 아니라 원장의 코칭리더십 증진을 위한 방안도 효과적임을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the influences of director’s coaching leadership and early childhood teacher’s emotional intelligence on teacher-child interactions. The data were collected from 283 early childhood teachers. This study used the questionnaires to collect data on director’s coaching leadership, teacher’s emotional intelligence, and teacher-child interactions. All research variables were measured using self-assessment questionnaires and were analyzed with Pearson’s correlations and structural equational modelling. The results were as follows: first, director’s coaching leadership was found to affect teacher-child interactions directly and indirectly through teacher’s emotional intelligence. Second, teacher’s emotional intelligence was found to affect teacher-child interactions directly and to have a mediating effect between director’s coaching leadership and teacher-child interactions. Additionally, teacher’s emotional intelligence was to be the most important variable predicting teacher-child interactions. These findings suggest that improving teacher’s emotional intelligence and the director’s coaching leadership could help facilitate teacher-child interactions and subsequently, enhance the quality of child-care and early childhood education.
