국문 초록

전통놀이가 유아의 발달과정에 매우 중요하다는 기존의 연구 결과에도 불구하고, 집단 전통놀이가 유아의 발달에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 집단 전통놀이 활동이 유아의 사회성 발달과 정서지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 있다. 본 연구를 위해 만4세 유아 40명(실험집단 21명, 통제집단 19명)을 선정하였고, 실험집단을 대상으로 비석치기, 투호놀이, 술래잡기, 윷놀이, 남대문놀이, 꼬리잡기, 강강술래, 남생이놀이 등으로 구성된 집단 전통놀이 프로그램을 주 3회 48차시 실시하였다. 연구도구는 유아의 사회성 척도와 유아의 정서지능 척도를 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단 전통놀이 활동이 유아의 사회성 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단 전통놀이 활동이 유아의 정서지능에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유아가 집단을 이루며 또래 간의 상호작용을 용이하게 끌어내는 집단 전통놀이는 유아의 사회성과 정서발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 점을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to understand the effects of traditional group play on preschoolers, acquisition and development of social skills and emotional intelligence. The experiment was conducted on 40 four-year-old preschoolers, divided into an experimental group consisting of 21 preschoolers and a control group of 19 preschoolers. The subjects in the experimental group participated in 48 sessions of an outdoor traditional group play program, conducted 3 times per week over the course of 16 weeks while the subjects in the control group did not participate in any special activities and simply followed their daily routines. The data were collected in the pre- and post-trial assessments; subsequently, the averages and standard deviations were analyzed for covariance to test for significant differences between the two groups. The results show that first, traditional group play has significant effect on an infant’s sociality. Second, traditional group play indicates a significant impact on the development of an infant’s emotional intelligence. The results clearly signify that traditional group play positively influences the development of social skills and emotional intelligence through facilitating group formations and peer interactions.
