공립유치원 초임교사들의 임용시험 경험이 교직적응과정에 주는 의미

국문 초록

본 연구는 공립유치원 교사 임용시험에 합격하여 임용된 초임교사들의 임용시험 경험이야기를 통해 임용시험 준비과정에서의 실패와 성공 경험들이 공립유치원 초임교사로 살아가는데 어떤 의미를 갖는지 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 공립유치원에 임용된 지 1∼3년차의 교사 7명을 목적표집 하였다. 선행연구 고찰 후 질문목록을 작성하여 반구조화된 형식으로 개별면담을 실시하였으며 전화와 이메일 등을 통해 추가 자료를 수집하고 그 내용을 전사하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 연구에 참여한 교사들은 다양한 동기로 임용시험 준비를 시작하였고 실패와 시행착오 과정을 거치며 자신만의 학습방법을 터득하고 힘든 과정을 극복하기 위해 몸과 마음을 챙기며 합격에 이르렀다. 이러한 경험들이 현재 자신의 삶에 자산이 되어 초임교사로서 겪는 다양한 어려움을 자기만의 방식으로 이겨내게 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of success and failure experiences in the preparation process for the teacher certification examination on the life of novice teachers at a public kindergarten by examining their experience stories of the exam after passing it and getting an appointment. For this purpose, the investigator selected seven teachers that were appointed to a public kindergarten one to three years before through purposive sampling. A review of previous studies was followed by making a list of questions and conducting an individual interview in a semi-structured fashion. Additional data was collected with follow-up phone calls and e-mail, whose content was transcribed and analyzed. The findings show that the participant teachers started to prepare for the teacher certification examination for various motives and finally passed the exam after developing their own study strategies through failure and trial and error and taking care of their body and mind themselves to overcome the difficult process. They said that those experiences became an asset in their current life and helped them overcome diverse difficulties as novice teachers.
