풀잎반 유아들의 ‘전이 시간(transition time)’ 경험에 대한 의미 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원 하루일과 중 전이 시간의 모습을 살펴봄으로써 전이 시간의 교육적 의미를 탐구해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 S시에 위치한 A유치원 풀잎반 담임교사와 만 4세 유아 총 25명(남12, 여13)를 대상으로 교실 참여관찰과 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 유아들이 경험한 전이 시간의 모습은 ‘놀이를 계속하고 싶은 시간’, ‘또래 간 감시와 자발적 도움이 공존하는 시간’, ‘유아들이 교실에서 사라지는 시간’, ‘우리만의 비밀을 공유하는 시간’, ‘기다리고 기다리고 또 기다리는 시간’ 인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 유아들의 관점을 통해 살펴본 유치원 전이 시간의 교육적 의미와 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to provide basic data on the educational meaning of transition times by examining the shape of transition time during a kindergarten class. The study participants included 25 children (12 boys, 13 girls) aged 4 and their classroom teachers. This study showed that the transition times experienced by the young children are as follows: “time to continue play, “time when peer-to-peer surveillance and voluntary help coexist,” “time when young children are absent from the classroom,” “time to share our secrets,” and “time to wait, wait, and wait.” This study is valuable for reinterpreting the meaning of transitions and revealing the educational implications of making transition times meaningful from the pers pective of young children.
