코로나19 상황에서 유아교실의 변화와 놀이지원방안에 대한 요구

국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 외부와의 접촉을 최소화하고 있는 유아교실의 변화를 교사의 인식을 통해 살펴봄으로써 유아와 교사에게 필요한 지원이 무엇인지 알아보기 위해 이루어졌다. 이를 위해 B시와 U시에 위치한 8개의 유아교육기관에서 10인의 연구참여자들을 대상으로 2020년 10월-11월 2개월 동안 개방형 설문과 전화 면담, 관찰일지, 놀이 동영상 관찰을 통해 질적 연구의 방법으로 연구결과를 도출하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 코로나19 상황에서 유아교육기관의 교실 변화는 의사소통과 몰입을 방해하는 마스크, 사회적 거리두기가 만드는 놀이의 거리두기, 새로운 갈등의 발현, 찾아가는 새로운 놀이방식, 잔소리쟁이가 되어가는 교사로 나타났다. 둘째, 코로나19 상황에서 교사 대 유아의 비율 조절, 소통의 창구 개설, 인적 지원, 물적 지원, 건강과 안전에 대한 지원 방안의 필요성에 대한 요구가 나타났다. 본 연구는 코로나19라는 상황에서 교사들의 인식을 통해 유아교육기관의 교실 장면을 들여다봄으로써 유아들이 당면한 현실을 이해하고, 교사들의 고민과 지원 방안에 대한 요구를 파악하여 앞으로 다가올 여러 가지 시대적 변화에도 대응할 방안 마련을 위한 자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This research was conducted to find out what support is needed for infants and teachers by looking at the changes in early childhood classrooms where contact was minimizing due to the COVID-19 situation through the teachers perception. In order to do this research, eight early childhood education institutions located in B city and U city participated in this study. 10 participants who work in these institutions made observations for two months, from Oct of 2020 and to Nov of 2020. This has produced results using qualitative research methods which are: open-ended questionnaire, consultation by phone, observing log and playing video clip. The results of the study are as follows. First, in the COVID-19 situation, changes in classroom conducted in early childhood education institutions showed the following issues: complaining teachers, hindered communication because of masks, social distancing, and their need to find a new way for the infants to play. Second, it is required a new plan adjusting of ratio of kids versus teachers, making space for communication, human resources support, parental education and playthings support, and health and safety support. This research is meaningful in that it provides data to understand the reality facing infants and teachers by looking at classroom scenes of early childhood education institutions through the realities of COVID-19, understanding teachers concerns and demands for support, and preparing ways to respond to future changes.
