국문 초록

본 논문에서는 한 미국인 예비교사의 한국학교에서의 경험의 내용을 탐구하고 그 의미를 고찰하는데에 그 목적이 있다. 한국 정부 주관 장학생 초청 프로그램인 TaLK 프로그램을 통해 한국의 초등학교에서 영어를 가르치게 된 미국인 예비교사 아비게일의 이야기를 통하여, 한국학교에서의 경험과 그 의미를 탐구해 보았다. 본 연구의 참여자는 미국인 새내기 교사 아비게일이다. 본 연구를 위한 자료는 2012년에 수집되었다. 연구를 위해 아비게일의 일기와 수업자료가 수집되었고 연구자와 여러 차례 면대면 인터뷰를 진행했다. 인터뷰 내용은 전사되어 다른 자료들과 함께 삼각 측량되었다. 아비게일에게 한국의 학교 현장에서의 경험은 새로운 경험이었고 배움이었다(Learning-in-practice). 현장에서의 다양한 경험들은 교사로서의 아비게일의 정체성(identities-in-practice)을 구성하고 재구성하였다. 현장에서 새로이 인식한 다름을, 아비게일은 미국학교에서의 이전의 경험을 기준으로 비교 및 대조함으로 그 의미를 재개념화 하였다. 재개념화된 의미와 이해는 아비게일의 한국학교 수업에 적용되었고, 교사로서 본인이 속한 공간을 재구성하였다. 아비게일은 현장 속 지속적인 경험을 통해 자연스럽게 현재까지 구성했던 ‘이해의 틀’의 재구성의 필요를 재인식하였다. 경험에 대한 비교 및 대조의 과정을 이어가는 과정을 반복하면서, 재개념화 되고 재구성된 경험의 의미를 수정 및 보완 할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to draw implications for the improvement of the teacher practicum program and the teacher practicum sandwich system. In order to achieve this research purpose, this study investigated satisfaction with teacher practicum program. Satisfaction survey tool for teacher practicum consisted of context, input, process, and output factors based on CIPP model. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, satisfaction with the teacher practicum program was high in input and output factors, but low in context factors. Second, there was a significant difference in satisfaction with the teacher practicum program by the training school. Third, the pre-teachers presented problems and improvement for the context, input, process, and output of teacher practicum program. The implication of this study was that it suggests ways to improve the teacher practicum program and provides basic data for the introduction of the teacher practicum program semester .The implication of this study is that it suggests ways to improve the teacher practicum program and provides basic data for the introduction of the teacher practicum sandwich system.
