직업계고 실험･실습 시설･기자재 확보와 관련 변인 탐색

국문 초록

직업계고의 교육 방향이 산업현장에서 요구하는 직업능력을 강조함에 따라 실험･실습 여건 확충은 매우 중요한 정책 아젠다이지만, 단위 학교는 여전히 실험･실습 시설 확충의 어려움을 호소하고 있으나 이에 대한 구체적인 현황은 체계적으로 보고되지는 않고 있다. 이에 따라 이 연구는 직업계고 재구조화 지원 사업을 중심으로 직업계고 실험･실습 시설 및 기자재 확충에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 구체적으로 직업계고 재구조화 사업에 참여한 학교의 관계자를 대상으로 실험･실습 시설 및 기자재 확충의 정도 및 이와 관련한 학교 특성과의 관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 2016~2018년간 직업계고 재구조화 사업에 참여한 199개교의 담당 교사를 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 재구조화 참여의 주요 실적과 실험･실습 시설 및 기자재 확보율을 조사한 결과와 함께, 한국교육개발원 등의 학교 특성과 관련한 데이터를 연결하여 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 적지 않은 학교들이 사업 수행에도 불구하고 충분한 실험･실습 여건을 갖추지 못하였으며, 학교계열, 소재지역, 선택적 교육활동비 결산액, 학교시설 확충비 결산액, 재구조화 사업에 따른 실험･실습 확충 집행액, 실무과목 실험･실습 비중 등이 실험･실습 시설 및 기자재 확보율에 의미 있는 변인으로 나타났다. 특히 직업계고 재구조화 사업에 따른 실험･ 실습 여건 확충비 집행액이 실험･실습비 기자재 확보율에 정적인 관계가 있다는 점에 주목할 필요가 있는데, 직업계고 재구조화 사업과 같은 재정지원이 단위 학교에서 필요한 기자재를 확보하는데 도움을 주고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 정책제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The expansion of experimental and practical conditions is a very important policy agenda as long as the direction of secondary vocational education is to enhance their vocational skills required by industrial sites. However, schools are still complaining of difficulties in expanding experimental and practical facilities, and its detailed status has not been reported systematically. Accordingly, focusing on the Vocational High School Restructuring Project, this study aimed to examine the relationship between the expansion of experiment-practice facilities/equipments and school characteristics. Through the survey of 199 teachers who participated in the Vocational High School Restructuring Project between 2016 and 2018, this study investigated the major performances of re-structuring project, and the rate of securing experiment-practice facilities and equipments. Logistic regression analysis was conducted by linking survey data with the data related to school characteristics such as the Korea Educational Development Institute. According to the analysis, not a few schools did not have sufficient experimental and practical conditions despite the project s performance. The types of vocational schools, location areas, selective educational activity expenses, school facilities expansion expenses, execution amount of expansion of experiments and practices according to the restructuring project, and the proportion of practical subjects were significant variables to securing the experiment-practice facilities and equipments. In particular, it is worth noting that the amount of expenses to expand experiments and practice conditions from the restructuring project had a positive relationship with the rate of securing facilities and equipments. Based on these findings, policy suggestions were presented.
