경력단절기혼여성의 취업경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 현상학적 질적연구방법을 사용하여, 경력단절 기혼여성의 대학진학을 통한 취업경험을 총체적으로이해함으로써 경력단절 기혼여성의 취업경험의 의미를 도출해내는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 전형적 사례 선택을 통해 선정된 연구자참여자 5명과 심층인터뷰 조사를 실시하였고 자료의 다각화를 위해 인터뷰 텍스트를 비롯하여 이메일, 현장기록일지, 전화인터뷰 등의 자료를 수집하여 연구의 분석에 활용하였다. 분석은 Giorgi의 기술적 현상학 연구방법의 4단계에 따라 수행하였으며, 경력단절 기혼여성의 대학진학을 통한 취업경험의 구조는 최종적으로 5개의 구성요소와 12개의 하위구성요소로 도출되었다: <괜찮은 자리가 요구하는 ‘조건’ 갖추기>, <대학, 안타까운 동상이몽(同床異夢)>, <노력으로 갖출 수 없는 조건. “나이” 를 마주함>, <빛 좋은 개살구, 알맹이 없는 일자리 지켜내기>, <강요된 반성, 다시 스펙 쌓기>. 따라서 기혼여성이 대학진학을 통한 취업의 경험은 ‘대학진학을 통해 새로운 배움 속에서 조건을 갖추고, 삶의 주체로 성장하고 노동시장이 원하는 학위와 자격증의 조건을 갖추었으나 했으나, 정작 이들을 위한 일자리는 없는 현실을 경험한 ’줄탁(啐啄)이 동기(同機)‘ 하지 못하는 암담한 현실을 마주함’이었다.

영문 초록

This study tries to understand employment experiences among career-interrupted married women who enter college to find jobs again, and extract essential meaning of employment. This study aims to find policy issues and practical implications to support and maintain their job-findings. The research method of this study is phenomenological qualitative research which reveals life world of women and analyzes in depth the meaning provided by experiences in the perspective of women themselves (emic perspective). The analysis was performed following the four stages of Giorgi’s descriptive and phenomenological method. In the process, 512 meaning units collected from interviews with five participants were used in analysis, and those units were organized and summarized into 96 units commonly applied to all participants. The essential structure of employment experiences of career-interrupted married women were drawn into five factors and twelve sub-factors. The experience of career-interrupted married women, and who try to find jobs by entering college was to confront the dismal realities where even if they were equipped with new qualifications through entering college, and earning degrees and certificates the labor market requires, there are no jobs for them. The job market does not respond properly to their efforts. Based on such research findings, this study summarized and suggested theoretical, practical policy implications.
