국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 알코올중독자들의 주관적인 회복경험을 이해하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 7명의 알코올중독 회복자들과의 심층인터뷰를 중심으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료를 질적 사례연구방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 연구 참여자들의 개별 회복경험에 대한 기술 및 이슈 분석, 그리고 연구 참여자들의 경험을 통합한 주제분석 결과로 제시하였다. 통합분석 결과 알코올중독자들의 회복경험과 관련하여 19개의 범주와 4개의 주제가 도출되었다. 4개의 주제는 ‘자기성찰을 통해 술을 포기함’, ‘단주 열망으로 가득함’, ‘중독의 늪에서 빠져나오기’, ‘상처를 끌어안고 새로운 삶에 충실함’이었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 알코올중독자들이 다양한 경로를 통해서 회복을 유지하고 관리할 수 있도록 실천방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to understand the subjective recovery experience of alcoholics in depth. For this purpose, the qualitative data were collected from in-depth interviews with 7 people in recovery from alcohol, and the collected data were analyzed through a qualitative case study approach. The results of the study were presented as a result of the description and issue analysis of individual recovery experience and the theme analysis of integrating alcoholics’ recovery experiences. 19 categories and 4 themes were emerged from the integrated analysis. The themes of the recovery experiences of alcoholics were as follows: ‘giving up alcohol through self-reflection’, ‘filling with the desire of monotheism’, ‘getting out of the swamp of addition’, ‘embracing the wound and being faithful to new life’. Based on these results, this study offered practical methods for supporting alcoholics to sustain and manage their recovery through diverse routes.
