국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 경남지역이 갖는 지리적인 공간 특성과 1905년부터 1945년 8월 14일까지 일제강점기를 중심으로 전개된 경남 독립운동 유형과 과정을 분석하는 데 있다. 특히 경남지역의 독립운동사를 중앙과의 관계보다는 지역의 지정학적 특성과 역사, 문화를 독자적인 관계 속에서 설명했다. 또한 일제강점기 구국 활동을 위한 독립운동가 삶의 방식과 사고방식에 대한 지혜로운 시각을 조명하는 총체적 분석을 통해 독립운동의 인문학적 가치를 도구적 가치와 본질적 가치로 구분했다. 이어 독립운동 정신의 계승을 위해 다크투어리즘을 적용하여 경남지역의 역사를 알리고자 했다. 이를 바탕으로 경남지역의 국가 유공자 현황과 국가보훈의 방향성을 제시함으로써 독립운동의 정신을 기억하고 계승하는 데 일조하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the geographical spatial characteristics of the Gyeongnam region and the types and processes of the Gyeongnam independence movements that developed from 1905 to August 14, 1945, centered on the Japanese colonial period. In particular, the history of the independence movement in Gyeongnam was explained in an independent relationship with the geopolitical characteristics, history, and culture of the region rather than the relationship with the central government. The humanistic value of the independence movement was divided into instrumental and essential values through a holistic analysis that sheds light on the wise perspectives on the way of life and thinking of independence activists for national salvation activities during the Japanese colonial period. In order to inherit the spirit of the independence movements, a dark tourism was applied to inform the history of the Gyeongnam region. Based on this, I intend to contribute to remembering and inheriting the spirit of the independence movements by suggesting the current status of national meritocracy and the direction of national patriotism in the Gyeongnam region.
