국문 초록

본고는 원불교 사상에 입각하여 갈등의 원인을 분석진단하고 갈등치유의 원리를 규명하며 갈등치유의 교육적 사례를 연구하여 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 갈등은 ①하고자 하는 마음, ②시비이해의 충돌, ③강․약의 대립이 원인이 되어 발생한다. 또한 갈등의 원인을 이해함으로써 갈등을 해소하고 치유할 수 있게 되며 각 원인에 상응하는 치유방법을 다음과 같이 제시할 수 있다. 첫째, 욕심을 다스리는 수양력이다. 염불, 좌선과 경계를 대할 때 마음을 멈추는 공부는 갈등 대처에 도움을 준다. 둘째, 모두가 고귀한 존재라는 자세로 시비이해를 분석하는 연구력이다. 상대방을 존중하는 자세로 시비이해를 바르게 보면 올바른 선택이 가능해져 갈등치유로 나아갈 수 있다. 셋째, 강자와 약자가 함께 향상의 길로 나아가야 한다. 강자가 약자를 억압하거나 약자가 강자에 대항만 한다면 약육강식의 사회적 갈등이 야기된다. 이를 극복하려면 약자가 보호받는 사회 시스템을 만들어 갈 때 강․약의 대립을 해소할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims at understanding the causes of conflict and explaining the principles and educational cases of healing conflict from th perspective of Won-Buddhist thought. Conflicts that can occur to anyone are identified in three ways: First, conflicts occur out of a desire to do something; second, conflicts arise due to conflicting perspectives of what is considered right, wrong, beneficial and harmful; third, conflicts are caused by confrontations between the strong and the weak. Understanding the causes of these conflicts is the beginning of healing conflict, and a method of healing can be suggested according to each cause. The first is the power of cultivation which can manage desire. The practice of pausing when encountering sensory conditions, as well as chanting and seated meditation, help cope in situations of conflict. The second is the power of inquiry into right, wrong, benefit and harm, considering every being as noble. The third is that the strong and the weak should advance together. If the strong repress the weak, or if the weak oppose the strong, our society will be a world where the stronger prey upon the weak. To overcome this, it is important to eliminate the confrontation between the strong and the weak when creating a protected social system.
