국문 초록

본 연구는 장애아동어머니들의 양육스트레스, 사회적 지지와 우울간의 관계를 검증하고자 하였다. 또한 본 연구는 발달장애아동의 어머니와 지체장애아동의 어머니를 대상으로 양육스트레스와 우울간의 사이에서 사회적 지지의 역할에 대한 검증을 하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 경기도에 거주하고 있는 발달장애아동 어머니 120명과 지체장애아동 어머니 82명의 대상으로 하였다. 연구 참여자를 위해 양육스트레스, 사회적지지 그리고 우울의 측정도구를 사용하였다. 본 연구결과 발달장애와 지체장애아동의 어머니 모두 사회적 지지는 우울과 부적관계가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 발달장애 어머니들 보다 지체장애 아동의 어머니들은 발달장애아동 어머니들 보다 높은 수준의 우울과 낮은 수준의 사회적 지지가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 끝으로 발달장애아동 어머니의 사회적지지가 양육스트레스와 우울간의 관계에서 완충효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 끝으로 본 연구결과를 토대로 임상적 함의를 제공하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This research study examined the relationship among parenting stress, social support, and depression in mothers of children with disability. This study also tested the role of social support in the relationship between parenting stress and depression in mothers of children with different types of disability. A total of 120 mothers of children with developmental disability and 82 mothers of children with physical disability were enrolled from several cities in Gyeonggi-do. Participants completed measures of parenting stress, social support, and depression. This research showed that social support had a negative association with depression in both mothers of children with developmental disability and physical disability. Mothers of children with physical disability had a higher level of depression but a lower level of social support than mothers of children with developmental disability. Finally, only mothers of children with developmental disability had a moderating effect on the relationship between parenting stress and depression. This research study provides clinical implications.
