할리우드 초기 영화 음악 발전에 관한 연구 -1926~1934년을 중심으로-

국문 초록

할리우드가 가장 먼저 유성 영화 제작에 성공했기에 글로벌영화산업 및 음악제작의 중심이라고 할 수 있으며 미국 영화산업의 대명사라고 할 수 있다. 워너브러더스, 디즈니, 20세기 폭스, 유니버설 픽처스와 컬럼비아 픽처스 등 메이저 영화사들이 모두 할리우드를 중심으로 활동하기 시작했고 할리우드로 세계 최고의 영화제작자와 모델들이 모여들었다. 이로써 할리우드는 영화의 생산은 물론 전 세계 영화의 개봉과 발행을 지배하게 한다. 세계 각국에서 할리우드 영화는 전체 영화 개봉작의 60~90%를 차지한다. 본 논문은 1926년부터 1934년까지 할리우드의 초기 유성 영화 음악의 발전을 연구하였으며, 이 시기 영화 음악은 그 뒤 영화 음악 시장을 이끌 중요한 역할을 하였다. 무성 시대는 훌륭한 영화 음악 전통을 간직한 채, 황금시대 영화 음악을 위한 길을 닦았다. 대표작을 통해 할리우드 초기 유성 시대 음악 콘셉트영화 활용 및 음악의 인용에서 오리지 널 원작 음악으로의 전환, 비 서사적 음악과 서사적 음악의 결합 등의 실례를 연구하였다. 이 시기 영화 음악의 다양성과 공통된 영화 음악 창작기법들을 분석하였다.

영문 초록

Hollywood is synonymous with the American film industry. It was the first to successfully step into the production of talkies, and it is also the production center of the global film industry and music. Warner Brothers, Disney, twentieth century fox, universal, Columbia pictures film brings together the big studios in Hollywood, the Hollywood has the world s top film production mode, dominate the production of the film and movie theaters and issue all over the world, around the world, Hollywood movie release of 60 ~ 90% advantage. This paper studies the development of early Hollywood talkies music from 1926 to 1934. The film music m this period plays an important role m connecting the past and the future. It retains the excellent soundtrack tradition m the silent film era and paves the way for the development of music m the golden age. Through the analysis of representative works of Hollywood early sound era theme music in the film, the application from the reference music to the transition of the original music, the narrative music and narrative music combined with case study, demonstrates the diversity of film music during this period, as well as some unique film music creation technique.
