청소년이 지각한 부모 양육방식과 섭식태도와의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 부모와의 관계에서 경험한 양육방식의 두 가지 차원인 돌봄과 과보호가 섭식태도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 그 과정에 자기대상욕구의 갈망과 회피가 관여하는지를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 부모의 돌봄과 과보호가 자기대상욕구를 갈망하거나 회피하는 형태로 섭식태도를 예측하는 심리적 경로를 Kohut의 자기심리학에 근거하여 이론적 경로구조모형을 설정하고 이를 자료를 통해 검증하였다. 서울 지역 소재의 중학교에 재학 중인 청소년 382명(N=382)의 자기보고 설문자료를 구조방정식 모형으로 분석한 결과 부모의 양육방식이 자기대상의 갈망과 회피를 완전매개로 섭식태도를 예측함을 확인하였다. 부모 양육방식의 돌봄과과보호가 자기대상욕구의 갈망과 회피를 경유해 섭식태도를 예측하는 경로는 다르게 나타났는데 돌봄은 자기대상욕구의 회피를, 과보호는 자기대상욕구의 갈망과 회피를 각각 매개하여 역기능적으로 섭식태도에 영향을 미쳤다. 친밀감이 중심인 돌봄이 낮으면 자기대상욕구의 회피는 커졌고 통제와 자율성 침해를 기반으로 한 과보호가 높으면 자기대상욕구의 갈망과 회피가 각각 높게 나타나 섭식태도를 매개했다. 자기대상이 중요해지는 청소년기의 발달특성을 고려할 때 청소년의 섭식문제를 예방하고 치료적 개입을 위해서는 좌절에 대한 욕구 충족으로서 자기대상욕구의 활성화에 주목할 필요가 있다. 또한 갈망과 회피의 두 가지 자기대상욕구 유형은 상담 장면에서도 다르게 드러나므로 치료적 개입을 위해서도 욕구 유형을 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 상담적 의의 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의에 포함하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of care and overprotection of parenting style on eating attitude, and to verify whether hunger and avoidance of selfobject needs has been involved in the process. For this purpose, a theoretical path structure model was set up based on self psychology as a psychological path to predict eating attitude in the form of parental care and overprotection as a hunger or avoiding desire for selfobject needs. Analysis of self-report questionnaire data of 382 adolescents (N = 382) attending junior high schools in Seoul area showed that parenting style predicted eating attitude with complete mediating effect of hunger or avoiding desire of selfobject needs. Parental care and overprotection showed different path in predicting eating attitudes via hunger and avoidance of selfobject needs. Care mediated avoidance, and overprotection mediated hunger and avoidance of selfobject needs, affecting eating attitude in dysfuntional way. When care is low, avoidance of selfobject needs increases, and when control overprotection is high, hunger and avoidance of selfobject needs increases, respectively. Considering the characteristics of adolescence, focus on the activation of selfobject needs is needed to prevent eating problem of adolescents and intervene in therapy. Also, since hunger and avoidance of selfobject needs type appear different in counseling setting, needs type should be examined for the intervention. Based on the results of the study, the implications for counseling and suggestions for follow up research were included in the discussion.
