국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 디지털 영상 미디어의 교육적 활용에 있어 많은 사람들이 우려하는 디지털 영상 미디어에 의한 자아 정체성 형성을 살펴, 디지털 영상 미디어가 새로운 자아 정체성 형성의 모델로서 긍정적으로 작용할 수 있음을 밝혀내고 이와 관련된 미술교육의 역할을 모색해 보는데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 자아 정체성 형성기제로서의 디지털 영상 미디어에 대한 우리 사회의 부정적인 견해들을 살펴보고, 이의 극복 방안으로서 청소년들의 자아 정체성 형성의 위기요인이 디지털 영상 미디어라는 단편적인 시각에서 벗어나 여러 요인들과의 관련 속에서 복합적으로 작용함을 파악하고자 한다. 둘째, 자아 정체성 형성의 기제로 작용하는 디지털 영상 미디어의 역할논의를 새로운 동일시 모형으로 파악하여 디지털 영상 미디어의 의한 다중 정체성 형성이라는 전향적 시각을 마련하고자 한다. 이를 바탕으로 미술교육에 활용하는 디지털 영상 미디어가 단지 표현도구로 사용됨에만 그치지 않고 청소년들의 자아 정체성 형성이라는 함의로 까지 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The present study purposed to examine the formation of identity through digital visual media, about which many people are concerned in the educational use of digital visual media, to prove that digital visual media can function positively as a model for the formation of new self-identity, and to look for the roles of art education related to digital visual media. For these purpose, first, we reviewed negative opinions in our society on digital visual media as a mechanism of self-identity formation and, to overcome such opinions, demonstrated that adolescents’ crisis of self-identity formation does not come just from digital visual media but from the composite effect of various relevant factors. Second, we made a discussion on the role of digital visual media functioning as a mechanism of self-identity formation through a new identification model in order to suggest a prospective view of multiple identity formation through visual media. Furthermore, we suggested the possibility that digital visual media utilized in art education are not used limitedly just as expression tools but are developed into an implication for adolescents’ self-identity formation.
