국문 초록

미술이 환경 또는 특정 공간·건축에 적용되는 환경 중심의 예술적 기능이 강조되는 회화를 환경회화라고 한다. 이 회화는 문화 관광자원 확대, 관광지에 예술경관 조성, 도시 이미지 제고를 통해 문화의 경제적 효과를 높일 수 있는 21세기 문화의 세기에 중요한 자원으로서의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 특히 도시개발방식에 개성과 다양성을 부여하고 각 지역의 문화, 역사, 환경보존을 고려하는 환경회화에 대한 전문적인 연구와 회화 영역에서 확장된 수업방법도 개발되어야 한다. 특히 다양한 표현재료를 개발하고 활용하여 도시 환경미술의 표현을 확대시키고 예술적, 심미적 향상을 목적으로 한다. 환경회화는 사람들의 삶의 질을 향상시키고, 쾌적하고 미적인 환경을 조성하는 등 문화 복지적 효과가 큰 만큼 교육적 효과 또한 중요한 역할을 한다. 교육적 측면에서는 다양한 표현재료와 매체를 개발하고 활용하여 도시 환경미술의 표현을 확대시키고 예술교육의 활성화를 주도하는데 연구를 주력하여야 한다. 이러한 내용을 목적으로 환경회화의 정의와 개념규정을 하고 도시환경과 회화의 관계를 고찰했다. 또한 환경회화의 역할과 기능, 특히 개방 공간의 역할과 관리의 현황을 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

Site-Specific art refers to art that emphasizes the artistic function of the environmental-centric aspect of a specific space/architecture. This art is an important resource of the culture of 21st century because it can increase cultural tourism sites, create artistic scenery at tourist sites, improve the city image, and is rapidly increasing in its cultural value. Environmental art that considers the originality and the variety of the city-improvement method and the preservation of each area’s culture, history, and ecosystem especially needs a professional study and an expansion in teaching methods in drawing techniques. The goal should be to expand expressions of urban-environmental art by inventing and utilizing various materials and to increase artistry and accessibility. 2) Site-specific art increases the quality of life and creates aesthetic and beautiful environment; as this art has a huge social welfare impact, its educational effect has an equally important role. An educational approach should contain the expansion of the expression of urban site-specific art by utilizing and inventing various artistic materials and mediums as well as leading the active participation of art education. The definition of site-specific art and its terms, as well as the examination of relationship between urban environment and art, was conducted with aforementioned views in mind. We have also examined the role and function of site-specific art, especially the role of open space and the current state of administration.
