독거노인의 고독감이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 및 사회적 지지의 조절효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 독거노인의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 고독감에 주목하였으며, 고독감이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 지지의 조절효과 검증으로 독거노인의 삶의 만족도 향상에 보다 현실적인 제안을 하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 부산소재 사회복지기관을 통해 서비스가 이루어지는 노인맞춤돌봄서비스 및 방문요양서비스에 참여하는 독거노인을 대상으로, 2020년 8월 한달 동안 설문에 성실하게 응답한 200명의 자료를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 활용하여 통계 분석하였다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구사회학적 변수를 통제한 상태에서 독거노인의 고독감은 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치며, 사회적 지지는 조절효과를 가지는 것으로 검증되었다. 둘째, 사회적 지지는 독거노인의 고독감이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 부정적 영향을 완화시키는 조절효과를 가지는 것으로 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 통제변수 중 연령과 건강상태, 자녀와의 관계는 독거노인의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 독거노인의 고독감, 사회적 지지, 삶의 만족도의 관계를 파악하여 독거노인의 삶의 만족도 향상에 실천적 및 정책적 함의를 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study focused on loneliness as a factor that had an effect on life satisfaction in elderly living alone and aimed to make more realistic proposals for improving life satisfaction in elderly living alone by verifying the moderating effect of social support in the influencing relationship of loneliness on life satisfaction. Data analysis was conducted in 200 individuals who responded faithfully to the survey for one month, on Aug., 2020, targeting elderly living alone who participated in Customized Care Services for Older Adults and Home Care Service that were provided through social welfare organizations located in Busan. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 program. Our major findings are as follows. First, it was found that loneliness had an effect on life satisfaction in elderly living alone when sociodemographic variables were controlled and social support had a moderating effect. Second, it was found that social support had a moderating effect as it mitigated the negative impact of loneliness on life satisfaction in elderly living alone. Third, it appeared that age, health condition, and relationship with children, among control variables had an effect on life satisfaction in elderly living alone. Based on such findings, this study is significant in that it provided practical and policy implications for improving life satisfaction in elderly living alone by identifying the relationship between loneliness, social support, and life satisfaction.
