영유아 문제행동지도를 위한 긍정적 행동지원 교사교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 문제행동 지도방법인 긍정적 행동지원을 유아교육 기관에 적용하기 위한 교사교육프로그램을 개발하고 적용해 보는 것이다. 교사교육 프로그램의 내용은 긍정적 행동지원의 7가지 요소(물리적 환경, 사회적 환경, 교수적 환경, 규칙 선정 및 지도, 기관차원의 문제행동 대응, 가족협력, 사회정서활동 계획 및 운영)으로 구성되어 있다. 교사교육 프로그램은 8회기로 매주 1회씩 90분간 강의, 사례분석, 토의, 워크숍, 질의응답으로 진행된다. 유치원 2곳과 어린이집 3곳에 재직 중인 교사 35명을 대상으로 프로그램을 진행하고 긍정적 행동지원에 대한 교사들의 인식과 교사교육 전후의 문제행동지도 전략 및 효능감을비교하였다. 교사들은 긍정적 행동지원 요소에 대해 어느 정도 알고 있어서 프로그램 내용을 이해하는 것은쉽게 생각하였으나 기관차원의 문제행동 대응과 가족협력을 적용하는 것에 어려움을 느꼈다. 예방적 문제행동 지도 및 적절한 반응전략과 문제행동지도 효능감은 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a professional development program to implement Positive Behavior Support(PBS) in early childhood education settings. The program included key features of the 1st and 2nd approaches of the PBS and consisted of seven elements of physical environments, social environments, instructional environments, identification and instruction of expectation, program-wide behavioral management systems, family involvement, and instruction of social and emotional skills. The program consisted of eight 90-minute sessions of lecture, case analysis, discussion, and workshop that were conducted once per week. A total of 35 teachers from 5 early childhood education settings participated in the program. They were asked to answer a survey based on their perceptions of the PBS and their perceptions of behavior management strategies and efficacy before and after the program were compared. The results showed that teachers were familiar with the PBS and perceived it positively as an effective behavior management strategy. However, teachers felt difficulty in the application of the program-wide behavior management system and family involvement in their classes. Overall, the teachers displayed statistically significantly higher results in using strategies for preventive problem behavior management and appropriate response and developing their behavior management efficacy.
